Lack of Common Sense Required for Abortion Advocates

Common senseAbortion advocates say some of the most outrageously absurd things. I don’t know how else to characterize the words that come out of their mouths. By any logical, rational standard the ideas and comments they put forth make absolutely no sense and would in any other context be considered too ridiculous to take seriously.

Take for example the comments of a British abortion advocate and attorney who said that rape victims bear some responsibility for being raped. In other words, “the fact that you were violently attacked and forced against your will to have sex is kind of your fault too.” I can’t even imagine making such a statement in the case of a prostitute being raped because logic dictates that there is a difference between consensual and non-consensual sex in every context.

But what can you expect from someone that openly advocates the legalization of sex with 13-year-olds? Don’t forget that there is a strong connection between the abortion industry and pedophile advocates; it makes things so much easier for them.

An MSNBC host recently quipped that when it comes to sex, pro-lifers don’t want “women to have joy.” The host, along with several other guests, discussed their belief that a pro-lifer opposing tax funded contraception and abortion obviously wants to punish women with “compulsory pregnancy” rather than giving women the joy of sex.

It’s hard to listen to such conversations without feeling as though I’ve lost a few brains cells in the process. The idea that just because I, as a pro-lifer, don’t believe the government should use my tax money to provide contraception and abortion to others means I want to “punish” women with pregnancy or deny them the joy of sex is ludicrous. If I also don’t believe the government should send money to foreign countries that want to harm America, am I denying those terrorists the “joy of terrorism”?

In Texas a new report actually says that denying a woman access to abortion violates her “right to life.” This new tactic from the abortion industry is deceptive as it uses the language of the pro-life movement to argue for abortion rights. It’s never been a problem for abortion groups like Planned Parenthood to deceive women by disseminating false information in order to gain support for abortion. Obviously this new tactic further proves that claim.

Commenting on the recent closure of abortion clinics in Texas in the wake of tougher pro-life laws, a UN report states:

“[g]overnment failure to take positive measures to ensure access to appropriate health-care services that enable women to safely deliver their infants as well as to safely abort unwanted pregnancies may constitute a violation of a woman’s right to life, in addition to the violation of her reproductive rights.”

I guess the irony of that statement is completely lost on abortion advocates. While they are happy to advocate the “right to life” for women, they are in the same breath happy to advocate for the murder of unborn children, including women. So, who really is waging a “war on women”?

Another MSNBC segment lamented the recent passing of stricter regulations on abortion clinics in Texas. The host asserted that these restrictions will only cause clinics to close and restrict abortion in the state. Common sense would say that requiring abortion clinics to follow the same restrictions which apply to other surgical medical facilities is…common sense. Passing such restrictions in no way forces a clinic to close, in no way restrict access to abortion, these regulations simply require an abortion clinic to follow the same regulations other medical clinics are following.

And yet groups like Planned Parenthood vociferously oppose any such regulations. Then again, it is Planned Parenthood clinics that often close for being filthy, in violation of state laws, and allowing non-medical personnel to perform medical functions. It’s no wonder they say regulations “cause clinics to close” because once regulations are passed their clinics are found to be subpar medically. But don’t worry, Planned Parenthood and MSNBC only want women to have “safe” abortions.

In any sane world where reason and logic are considered essential in order to be a public figure these people should be removed and perhaps remanded to a nice, quiet room. But we’re talking about the liberal media that will do anything to push abortion. You can almost smell their desperation in light of polls and surveys that show America is increasingly pro-life. And Planned Parenthood is panicking as clinics close at record pace.

Despite living under the most pro-abortion president in American history, more pro-life laws have passed in the last 4 years than in any other period since Roe v. Wade. The message of life is winning and abortion advocates are desperate and panicked.

Note: Unfortunately, West Virginia continues to be a state that is content to ignore the dangerously unregulated abortion industry. While many of our lawmakers claim to be pro-life, they sit in abject apathy while women are harmed due to a lack of regulation; all while tax payers fund the industry. And yet West Virginians are overwhelmingly pro-life.
