When Planned Parenthood Talks About “Donating Tissue” This Is What They Mean

Body parts pricePlanned Parenthood has been saying one thing and doing another for years. They are so good at it that die-hard fans of the organization have a hard time distinguishing facts from fiction. I’m not even sure Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards can separate truth from lie when she speaks. But it’s their speech, their words that have created confusion and chaos for anyone trying to figure out what the organization is talking about.

For example, Planned Parenthood has been telling women for years that “it’s not a baby, just a lump of cells.” This despite scientific evidence that shows the undeniable humanity of the unborn. Then, they turn around and accuse anyone that opposes abortion as being “against science.” Uhh, wait a minute, something isn’t right here. But that’s what they do, twist words to mean whatever they want until eventually they lose all meaning.

And let’s not forget the constant claim that abortion is “healthcare” and all the factual problems with that statement.

So when Planned Parenthood talks about harvesting “organs” and selling “tissue” they really believe it means nothing more than that. But for anyone that understands the words they are using we quickly realize that they are killing unborn children in order to sell their organs for profit. It’s shocking.

A recent article comments on the twisted language used by Planned Parenthood to deceive people into believing what they do is harmless, even good:

“Words are used to depict or describe; when they are used dishonestly — when they distort one’s understanding of a person or event or idea — they are weapons against intellectual integrity and morality itself. Planned Parenthood has developed a lectionary, accepted pro forma by the secular Left, to describe its various activities. Not unique to PPFA — this same set of words and phrases is used by the popular media and liberal politicians, as well — nonetheless the brazenness of the organization in using its specialized and euphemized vocabulary has elevated verbal and intellectual misrepresentation to a new level of hypocrisy.”

Planned Parenthood has used this smoke and mirrors tactic for many years, but recently, thanks to the efforts of groups like the Center for Medical Progress and Live Action, the shiny exterior Planned Parenthood has tirelessly defended is now terribly tarnished. In fact, if it were not for their partnership with the most pro-abortion president in American history, I have no doubt Planned Parenthood would be nearly non-existent. They are sustained primarily by our tax dollars, secured by President Obama and defended by his administration.

Now that the smoke is dissipating, Planned Parenthood is working night and day to preserve their reputation. This can be seen in their decision to “stop selling baby body parts.” While they continue to claim that they’ve done nothing wrong, and are within the boundaries of the law, they suddenly decided to release a statement about their decision. An article carries Cecile Richards’ statement:

“I want to be completely clear about two things: First, Planned Parenthood’s policies on fetal tissue donation already exceed the legal requirements. Now we’re going even further in order to take away any basis for attacking Planned Parenthood to advance an anti-abortion political agenda. And, second, our decision not to take any reimbursement for expenses should not be interpreted as a suggestion that anyone else should not take reimbursement or that the law in this area isn’t strong. The real goal of these extremists has nothing to do with our fetal tissue donation compliance process but is instead to ban abortion in the U.S. and block women from getting any health care from Planned Parenthood. Today, we’re taking their smokescreen away.”

That’s awful nice of Planned Parenthood to take “their smokescreens away.” The pro-life movement has been systematically doing that for years now, mighty neighborly of them to help out. But in truth Planned Parenthood is scared. Too much information has been handed over to the public concerning the abortion practices that are standard operating procedure inside Planned Parenthood. Public sentiment is low both for Planned Parenthood and abortion. What they are really doing is trying to protect their image.

If Planned Parenthood really believes that what they are doing is within the confines of the law then there’s no reason to stop. All they would need to do is show the law and their policy side by side and explain. But they haven’t done that. In fact, Congress has investigated into possible breaches of federal law. States have begun investigations into possible breaches of the law. This seems to be just another example of Planned Parenthood trying to break the law and get away with it. To be honest, they probably will. With the backing and “blessing” of President Obama there’s little chance that any serious investigation or legal action will be taken.

Despite the reality that legal action probably won’t be taken as long as President Obama is in office, we must not retreat for our efforts to expose Planned Parenthood and see abortion ended in our country. I think Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) said it best:

“It is clear that Planned Parenthood knows it is wrong to profit from the sale of baby body parts, but their decision to stop selling organs doesn’t change the fact that Planned Parenthood still profits from the death of children. This organization still engages in the inhumane treatment of children, and our federal government forces taxpayers to give them their hard-earned money. Congress must continue all investigations into their grotesque practices and remain committed to defunding them.”

Indeed we must remain committed to defunding them. And we must remain committed to seeing abortion stopped once and for all. Until we as a country defend the most vulnerable in our country we will never truly be “the land of the free and the home of the brave.”
