BREAKING: WV House Passes 20 Week Abortion Ban

Posted on February 26, 2014 in Life by

By a 79-17 margin, the West Virginia House of Delegates passed the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (HB 4588). The bill now goes to the Senate. The Charleston Gazette reports:

“Legislation that would make it a felony to perform abortions on fetuses after 20 weeks’ gestation passed an emotionally charged House of Delegates late Tuesday evening on a 79-17 vote. The passage vote followed a lengthy, emotional debate on the bill (HB4588). That included comments from Delegate Nancy Guthrie, D-Kanawha, saying the Legislature does not have the right to tell her or any other woman what rights she has with her body. ‘All of you should be ashamed of yourselves for bringing this bill to the floor of the House,’ she said.”

Whether the Gazette simply wants to be sterile and use medical terms like fetus or they are pro-abortion, I don’t know. I do know that Del. Guthrie thinks it is acceptable to torture and dismember an unborn child before it is born. But I’m sure she is glad her mother didn’t do that to her.

This bill has been a miracle since it was introduced and now needs another miracle to make it out of the senate. With just 11 days left in this legislative session the fate of the bill is presently unclear.

I encourage you to contact your elected state senators and let them know you support the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and want them to do the same. You can get in touch with every member of the legislature by going to: www.legis.state.wv.us/

That Dirty Little D Word: Discipline

Posted on February 20, 2014 in Family by

Have you ever been out in public and saw some kids behaving in a way that made you want to grab their ears, twist, and “teach them a lesson?” To emphasize her point, my mom used to grab my ear, twist, and proceed to show me exactly what it was I was supposed to be doing, or not doing. To say I was “all ears” would be an understatement.

Or maybe you’ve had an experience like this one where you end up hiding from your own kids because you’ve concluded that they are aliens sent to destroy you and take over the planet. And more often than not you sit back at the end of a long day, sigh (or perhaps cry) and wonder aloud “how did it get this bad?”

URGENT: Contact W.Va. Delegates to Ask Them To Support Pro-Life Bill

Posted on February 19, 2014 in Life by

After the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (HB 4588) failed during a procedural vote last week, state lawmakers were taken to task for their failure to protect innocent children from the torture of abortion. Perhaps they are feeling the pressure as it seems the bill has been revived and has passed a key hurdle in being discharged from committee.

According to LifeNews.com:

“…on February 12, 2014, the Democrats convened a caucus where, according to The Charleston Gazette (see Statehouse Beat: Caucus Becomes Heated), ‘Tensions are running high in the House of Delegates, after a three-hour, knock-down, drag-out Democratic caucus Wednesday that was marked, we’re told, by yelling and screaming, and even delegates concerned that fisticuffs might break out.’ Why such a heated caucus? The Gazette continued, ‘A procedural vote on this year’s anti-abortion bill being championed by West Virginians for Life…'”

The bill was set to be in the judiciary committee yesterday and news of what will happen next is pending. The best thing you can do right now to help pass this critical, life-saving bill is to contact your elected lawmakers and urge them to support the bill.

The Troubles Caused by Marriage Redefinition

Posted on February 19, 2014 in Marriage by

Marriage was intended to be the union of one man and one woman for the purpose of bearing and raising kids in order to propagate humanity and society. From a biblical position, marriage was also intended to be a visible image of the relationship between Jesus Christ and His bride, the church. On an individual level marriage was intended to make us holy, others-centered people. Anything outside this understanding of marriage is inadequate and presents a false view of God’s intended purpose for marriage.

In the effort to redefine marriage, proponents often say that marriage is just a legal contract intended to convey governmental benefits. Ok, I’ll accept that as a secondary, far less significant, man-made construct for modern marriage. That does not in any way alter the true purpose and definition of marriage. Nor should it somehow assuage the conscience and allow support for marriage redefinition.

When we as a society stray from the established purpose and definition of marriage we bring upon ourselves a whole new set of moral, societal, and legal troubles.

WV State Lawmakers Vote to Support Later Term Abortion. Here’s How They Voted.

Posted on February 13, 2014 in Life by

Once again our lawmakers have claimed to be pro-life while proving they support the unregulated abortion industry in West Virginia. They have ignored the overwhelming majority of West Virginians that support life and want to see the abortion industry regulated. They have shown that decades of one party leadership in West Virginia is partially responsible for the position we are in nationally. They have failed.

To the lawmakers that voted to defend unborn children from torture and pain, thank you. To those who turned a blind eye to the suffering of West Virginia’s most vulnerable mountaineers, shame on you. The graphic below shows exactly how each lawmaker voted on this critical bill. I highly recommend letting your lawmaker know if you are pleased with his or her vote. All contact information for lawmakers can be found here.

U.S. Abortion Rate Drops to Lowest Level in Decades

Posted on February 6, 2014 in Life by

The AP reports: “The U.S. abortion rate declined to its lowest level since 1973, and the number of abortions fell by 13 percent between 2008 and 2011, according to the latest national survey of abortion providers conducted by a prominent research institute.”
This despite living under the most pro-abortion president in U.S. history. Even though the Obama administration has done everything in its power to advocate for abortion, abortion numbers are falling. The Obama administration has partnered with Planned Parenthood to promote abortion, fund abortion, and do everything possible to see abortion advance. But the message of life is winning.

Video: Listen to the Beat – Abortion in America

Posted on February 1, 2014 in Life by

The video below is one of the most unique I’ve seen describing abortion in America. As Josiah, the speaker, shares hist story and comments on the tragedy of abortion in America drums play in the background. Each one of those drum beats represents an abortion that will take place today somewhere in America.

Perhaps the most sobering line from the video is at the end when Josiah reminds us that “if you think this isn’t enough lives that are lost, watch it again tomorrow, because it will happen again.”

Watch the video and share it with someone else. The message of life is winning and we will see the end of abortion in my generation if we continue to stand and speak. If the video doesn’t appear automatically, please refresh your browser.

Five Myths of Used to Justify Abortion Debunked

Posted on January 31, 2014 in Life by

At the recent Students for Life of America national conference in Maryland, pro-life advocates addressed 5 myths the abortion industry uses to justify the continued murder of millions of innocent children. Each myth, along with a response is posted below so you can learn how to engage those who might use these thoughts to justify abortion. The reality is that there is no justification for killing an innocent unborn child. By learning these myths and their responses we can engage those that seek to justify abortion with the truth.

Video: Brit Hume Says Abortion “Snuffs Out” a Human Life

Posted on January 28, 2014 in Life by

This short video by Fox News political analyst Brit Hume on the anniversary of Roe V. Wade reminds us all why we continue to protest the infamous Supreme Court Decision. Hume says abortion “snuffs out” a beating heart and kills a living human being.

Take a moment to watch this short but powerful video and share it with others. The battle to defend the unborn is not growing tired, it is growing stronger as each generation realizes that life is sacred and should be defended. Abortion advocates’ days are numbered as we draw closer to the day when abortion is ended and every unborn child is protected.

You’ve Heard of Wrongful Death, Now We Have “Wrongful Birth.”

Posted on December 18, 2013 in Life by

Abortion advocates so believe in the “right” to abortion that they have no trouble suing over what is being called “wrongful birth.” Here’s how the story was reported recently:

“A couple in Washington state have won what is being called the biggest so-called ‘wrongful birth’ lawsuit ever, when they claim they were denied information that could have led them to abort their disabled baby. A jury in Washington state awarded a couple $50 million after genetic tests didn’t give the couple the information they wanted to know about whether their baby had a rare genetic disorder. Had the baby had the disorder, the couple planned to take his or her life in an abortion.”

In short, this couple wanted genetic testing so they could determine if they were going to kill their unborn child. When they didn’t get what they wanted and had the child, who was found to be with a rare genetic disorder, they sued.

Can you imagine looking at your child and thinking “we would have killed you if we’d only known you would be like this.” That’s the mindset of these parents. They don’t see a precious life, a joy, a gift. They see a mistake that they would not have made “if only.” Is this the society we’ve become? Have we degenerated to the place that we will actually sue someone over a “wrongful birth”?

I feel sorry for this child. I don’t see how he could possibly receive the love a child deserves from parents that consider him a mistake and regret that they didn’t kill him. I fear one day we will hear about this child being euthanized. This is truly tragic. Click here for original article.
