Friends in Maryland: Did You Know Your Elected Officials Were Doing This?

The previous administration refused to even consider defunding Planned Parenthood, despite bi-partisan support. The Trump administration has said, however, that it is willing to cut funding. That seems like a no-brainer considering the bi-partisan support and overall common sense it makes.
In case you aren’t aware that a majority of people want to see Planned Parenthood defunded, a recent article reports:
“A recent survey found that community health centers not only provide more comprehensive health care than Planned Parenthood, excluding abortions, they also outnumber the abortion group’s facilities by 20 to one.”
Democrats in Maryland have responded by saying they will take the tax dollars of Maryland residents approximately, $2.7 million annually, and send it to Planned Parenthood.

Blair is running for a seat in the House of Delegates in West Virginia, which would make her the youngest to ever hold such a seat. Beck interviews Blair about what made her want to run for office, some of her goals if elected, and her relationship with God.

Hedgesville High School Student Beats Incumbent in Primary Election

Maybe there’s hope for West Virginia yet.
In the recent primary election a 17 year old Hedgesville student unseat a sitting state delegate by a fairly surprising margin. LifeNews.com reports:
“With all 13 precincts in her Martinsburg-area district reporting, Blair beat state Del. Larry Kump(R) by an 872-728 vote margin. Blair campaigned on an antiabortion, pro-Second Amendment platform, offering her cellphone number to constituents and pledging not to go negative. She spent about $4,800 on her campaign, state finance records show (Kump, a former lobbyist, only spent $1,800 on his reelection bid).”
URGENT: Contact W.Va. Delegates to Ask Them To Support Pro-Life Bill

After the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (HB 4588) failed during a procedural vote last week, state lawmakers were taken to task for their failure to protect innocent children from the torture of abortion. Perhaps they are feeling the pressure as it seems the bill has been revived and has passed a key hurdle in being discharged from committee.
According to LifeNews.com:
“…on February 12, 2014, the Democrats convened a caucus where, according to The Charleston Gazette (see Statehouse Beat: Caucus Becomes Heated), ‘Tensions are running high in the House of Delegates, after a three-hour, knock-down, drag-out Democratic caucus Wednesday that was marked, we’re told, by yelling and screaming, and even delegates concerned that fisticuffs might break out.’ Why such a heated caucus? The Gazette continued, ‘A procedural vote on this year’s anti-abortion bill being championed by West Virginians for Life…'”
The bill was set to be in the judiciary committee yesterday and news of what will happen next is pending. The best thing you can do right now to help pass this critical, life-saving bill is to contact your elected lawmakers and urge them to support the bill.
