U.S. Abortion Rate Drops to Lowest Level in Decades

The AP reports: “The U.S. abortion rate declined to its lowest level since 1973, and the number of abortions fell by 13 percent between 2008 and 2011, according to the latest national survey of abortion providers conducted by a prominent research institute.”
This despite living under the most pro-abortion president in U.S. history. Even though the Obama administration has done everything in its power to advocate for abortion, abortion numbers are falling. The Obama administration has partnered with Planned Parenthood to promote abortion, fund abortion, and do everything possible to see abortion advance. But the message of life is winning.
URGENT: House Passes “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act”

I wrote on Monday that the House of Representatives would be voting on the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act” this week. They held that vote on Tuesday and the bill passed with an overwhelming majority. Considering that polls have consistently shown a super-majority of Americans don’t want their tax dollars used to fund the abortion industry, this bill only makes sense. Not to mention the federal government should not be in the business of killing unborn children.
What If I Decided to Ignore the Law Like President Obama?

A disturbing trend is taking place across the nation regarding marriage laws. We are seeing more frequently a refusal on the part of elected officials to defend marriage laws, even those put in place as a result of a vote of the people. Working from where we are right now, backwards, the troubling trend has a specific starting point.
Just last week the newly elected attorney general of Virginia said he would not uphold his state’s ban on same-sex “marriage.” Mark Herring said he “cannot and will not” defend a law that he believes is unconstitutional. Virginia’s ban on same-sex “marriage” is set to be challenged in court very soon by tow homosexual couples. So this decision by Herring is timely and will require legal scrambling on the part of the state.
ObamaCare HHS Mandate Destroyed in Court

The Obama administration continues to trump its HHS mandate which forces all people and employers to provide and help pay for abortion inducing drugs and services. They might be the only ones however. Based on the 2013 court cases, the administration is getting walloped and the HHS mandate is suffering setbacks and defeats one right after the other. A recent report by Alliance Defending Freedom breaks it all down:
“2013 proved to be a bad year for the Obama administration’s abortion pill mandate, which finished the year with 88 percent of court decisions going against it (53-7). Alliance Defending Freedom and its allied attorneys are currently winning their cases by a wide margin, with court orders going 15-1 against the mandate. Courts issued a flurry of orders against the mandate even in the waning days of the year, including orders in Alliance Defending Freedom cases filed on behalf of non-profit Christian colleges and universities in California, Indiana, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania. The score in favor of non-profit religious entities is 18-1; the score in favor of families doing business is 35-6.”
It seems Americans and courts are not nearly as excited about the HHS mandate as the Obama administration is. At some point common sense would dictate that the mandate be scrapped and replaced with something more acceptable to a majority of Americans. If not, the Obama administration will continue to lose in courts and look foolish to the American public.
Ring In The New Year With This Top 10 List

As 2013 comes to a close it serves us well to look back and see what we can learn from the past year in an effort to make 2014 better. No doubt many will spend some time thinking about “new years resolutions” and work hard to become better husbands, mothers, workers, or even mentally and physically fit. But as we gaze back on 2013 anxious for the upcoming year, let’s take a moment to determine whether our country is better now than it was when 2013 began.
The most logical place to start is with the president. Since he is the president, the commander-in-chief, the buck stops with him. So how did President Obama make America better in 2013?
If Your State Did NOT Vote for Obama Insurance Rates Are Higher

A recent article explains: “If you live in a state that did not vote for Barack Obama for president, chances are your rates are going up more than if you reside in one that did vote for him. According to pricing analysis by the Heritage Foundation, premiums for 27-year-olds rose an average of 78 percent on Obamacare exchanges in Republican states. But premiums for those same young adults in states that voted Democrat rose by only 50 percent.”
Experts say this could be due to the fact that lightly regulated states – red states – will now be under heavy regulation, causing prices to rise more than already regulated states. But however you look at it, the fact is, prices are rising, coverage is shrinking, and no, you can’t keep your plan or your doctor. And if you oppose abortion you will still have to pay for it unless your state blocks that part of Obamacare.
For those of us in West Virginia, our state makes us pay for abortion with our taxes through medicare and will do the same through ObamaCare. While most of our elected officials claim to be pro-life they continue to force us to support the abortion industry in our state. Click here for original article.
I Don’t Get It. Why Hate On Home Schoolers?

It doesn’t make any sense.
I’ve tried to figure out why there is a deliberate persecution of home school families and I cannot figure it out. This persecution is taking place worldwide as governments crack down on home schooling globally. And for other countries it might make perfect sense. But it’s nothing short of baffling to figure out why the American government under Attorney General Eric Holder, presumably with consent from the president, would refuse to admit the right of parents to school their children.
At a time when the American education system is in turmoil; declining global competitiveness, overcrowded classrooms, high dropout rates, moral decline further facilitated by things like Common Core. One would think that our government and education system would welcome parents that want to teach their kids at home.
Robert P. George: What Lincoln Really Said at Gettysburg

If you’re not familiar with the writings of Robert P. George, you should be. The brilliant professor of law at Princeton is well respected in most circles for his keen insight into matters of law and public policy. But he is also respected as a man of faith that believes in the conservative, traditional values America was founded upon.
After President Obama removed the words “under God” from his recitation of the Gettysburg address this year an article of Dr. George’s surfaced in which he addressed the issue. Defenders of the president claim that Obama was merely quoting one of the “other copies” of the Gettysburg address in which the words “under God” do not appear. Indeed at least five copies of the address exist and at least two o those copies do not have the words “under God” in them. But this excuse is not acceptable, as Dr. George explains:
“Of course, none of these copies is actually the Gettysburg Address. The Gettysburg Address is the set of words actually spoken by Lincoln at Gettysburg. And, as it happens, we know what those words are. (The Bliss copy nearly perfectly reproduces them.) Three entirely independent reporters, including a reporter for the Associated Press, telegraphed their transcriptions of Lincoln’s remarks to their editors immediately after the president spoke. All three transcriptions include the words “under God,” and no contemporaneous report omits them. There isn’t really room for equivocation or evasion: Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address—one of the founding texts of the American republic—expressly characterizes the United States as a nation under God.” Click here for original article.
