Does Planned Parenthood Really Care About Women?

Planned ParenthoodParents in Europe can breathe a little easier after a draft report seeking to establish abortion as a fundamental human right was rejected by the European Union.

A report on the incident states, “The resolution on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights was presented by Portuguese MEP Edite Estrela but her report is said to be the work of the International Planned Parenthood Federation in Brussels.”

The reason this is important is twofold. First, it seems our lawmakers of late envy Europe and want to refashion the United States in the image of Europe. They repeatedly cite cases, laws, and even culture as a reason for change here in the U.S. I suppose the government overreach, failing economy, and complete lack of moral compass doesn’t mean much to Washington; but it sure does to Americans. We left Europe for a reason.

The second reason this is important is that within this bill was mandates on child sex-education for public schools. I talked about these “standards” here. But rest assured, when you start with teaching 4 year-olds about masturbation, the word standard has little to no meaning.

The fact that this bill was rejected is a win for morality and parental rights. The fact that it very likely will not be brought up again for the next year or so is a win for the unborn. The fact that Planned Parenthood was behind the push to declare abortion as a fundamental human right while seeking explicit sex indoctrination for children is no surprise at all.

It was Planned Parenthood that praised a recent statement by the American Academy of Pediatrics supporting greater access to condoms and sex-education for teens. A Planned Parenthood spokesman said:

“Doctors have spoken. Teens need greater access to condoms and sex education to reduce rates of sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancies…This a major step forward for getting more teens access to condoms and sex education.”

Of course! Condoms and sex-education will keep teens from disease and pregnancy, not abstinence. If you really want your teen to stay disease and pregnancy free you need to get him or her condoms and sex-education.

The statement might sound absurd and yet this is the logic Planned Parenthood uses as they push for a mandatory explicit sex-education for our kids in the public schools. They say it is unrealistic to expect teens to not have sex, so what we need to do is arm them with as many condoms and all the sex-education they can absorb before turning them loose to be the animals they are. That is how pathetic Planned Parenthood thinks your kids are.

This is the same Planned Parenthood that claims abortion is “safer than pregnancy.” Yet they continue to oppose any bills seeking to bring the abortion industry under common sense health and safety regulations. Something isn’t adding up. If abortion is so safe, safer even than pregnancy, and OBGYN’s are under health and safety regulations, why does Planned Parenthood oppose health and safety regulations for abortion clinics?

It could be because they know such regulations would close most of their clinics. These are not safe, clean, medical facilities like Planned Parenthood would have you believe. In fact, one recent report from Texas says that a number of Planned Parenthood clinics were found to be in gross violation of even basic health and safety regulations. Worse of all is the fact that clinic administrators admit the violations and recognize that they are breaking the law! The report states:

“Whole Woman’s Health and Planned Parenthood want the public to believe that abortion facilities are safe for women. A rusty suction machine, faulty sterilizing fluid, a faulty sterilization machine, holes in the floor exposing the facility to rodents, expired and unlabeled medication, and absent or poorly trained nursing staff contradict the abortion industry’s rhetoric. No woman should be exposed to such horrendous conditions. Women deserve better.”

Women do deserve better. Women deserve more than the lies of Planned Parenthood aimed at deceiving them into making one of the greatest mistakes of their life. They deserve better than the outright lies of what is growing inside them; it’s not cells or a blob, it’s a unique human being.

More importantly, women deserve better than a man who supports killing unborn children. While pro-life men are silenced in the face of arguments such as “you’re not a woman you have no say.” Pro-abortion men are lauded as being “pro-woman.” But as Pastor Mark Driscoll recently wrote, there are plenty of reasons not to marry someone who is pro-choice.
