Complementarianism: A Biblical Model of Marriage

Posted on February 4, 2014 in Marriage by

I could spend a lot of time talking about biblical gender roles. In fact, I spent over a year studying them before compiling a teaching outline and writing a number of articles on the subject. I believe the Bible lays out specific responsibilities and guidelines for men and women if they desire to be a biblical husband/father and wife/mother.

Disney Show for Kids Features Lesbian Couple

Posted on February 3, 2014 in Marriage by

The Disney kids show “Good Luck Charlie” recently featured a lesbian couple in an episode that some loved and others did not. The episode featured the “parents” of one of Charlie’s friends that happen to be two women.

What is most concerning to me was actually articulated by Miley Cyrus as she praised Disney for the episode. She tweeted:

‘I commend Disney for making this step into the light of this generation. They control…so much of what kids think!

Ding ding! That’s the point. Disney has significant influence in the lives of children. To promote homosexuality to young kids watching this show isn’t appropriate. This is a subject parents ought to be discussing with their kids when the parents are ready. Sensitive subject matter such as this should not be forced into homes because Disney wants to make a political statement. Disney has now played their hand and let everyone know where they stand on this issue. I suppose we will see Disney advocate for marriage redefinition in the near future, perhaps with a new animated movie featuring two princesses.

If You Enjoyed the Grammy’s – Don’t Read This

Posted on February 3, 2014 in Uncategorized by

For what it’s worth it seems, the folks directing the Grammy’s decided to cater to as small a crowd as possible. So they decided to appease Satanists, homosexuals, and…whatever crowd enjoyed Beyonce’s “performance.” And while I wish I could just forget it all and move on there is an urge to comment (Though, admittedly I didn’t watch the show and caught the “highlights” the next day.).

It is a sad commentary on our society when average people question what they witnessed. The Internet was buzzing with comments from people wondering out loud if Katy Perry just “summoned Satan” during her performance. Even E Online! pondered if they were watching “actual witchcraft.”

Picture: Atheists Get Billboard Outside Super Bowl Stadium

Posted on February 1, 2014 in Religious Freedom by

The American Atheists group known for bashing faith has been given add space outside Metlife Stadium where the Super Bowl will be played tomorrow. According to the group this is the first atheist sponsored billboard targeting football fans. The groups president, David Silverman made the following comment:

“Prayer is superstition, plain and simple. It trivializes the dedication of the players and takes away from their achievements…A third of football fans pray in hopes of helping their team. These are adults we’re talking about — people with children, people with careers, people who vote.” [I]t is 2014 and “time to stop believing that prayer works.”

I can’t help but wonder if a group promoting faith, prayer, salvation, or any other faith-based message would have been given the same add space. And if they were given the space, would they or the advertiser be sued by American Atheists or the Freedom from Religion Foundation? Will someone try to sue the atheists for promoting their “religion”? Because let’s face it, atheism is indeed a religion. The double standard and irony here is palpable.

Here’s the billboard that will be featured.

Video: Listen to the Beat – Abortion in America

Posted on February 1, 2014 in Life by

The video below is one of the most unique I’ve seen describing abortion in America. As Josiah, the speaker, shares hist story and comments on the tragedy of abortion in America drums play in the background. Each one of those drum beats represents an abortion that will take place today somewhere in America.

Perhaps the most sobering line from the video is at the end when Josiah reminds us that “if you think this isn’t enough lives that are lost, watch it again tomorrow, because it will happen again.”

Watch the video and share it with someone else. The message of life is winning and we will see the end of abortion in my generation if we continue to stand and speak. If the video doesn’t appear automatically, please refresh your browser.
