Atheist Groups Rejoice Over IRS Decision to Monitor Churches. But Should They?
Posted on July 31, 2014 in Public Policy, Religious Freedom by Nathan Cherry
Good news! The IRS has agreed to start monitoring churches more closely concerning political speech. Doesn’t that make you feel safe?
Apparently a lawsuit brought against the IRS by the Freedom from Religion Foundation (FFRF) has resulted in an agreement between the atheist group and the IRS to spend more time monitoring churches. After all, we can’t have churches giving direction to their congregations about critical issues, and where candidates stand on those issues. (Alliance Defending Freedom has sent a FOIA request to the IRS asking for these new policies.)
The lawsuit was first prompted in 2009 as a result of the nationwide ‘Pulpit Freedom Sunday” campaign started by Alliance Defending Freedom. This campaign was started as an effort to challenge the unconstitutional “Johnson Amendment” that was inserted into the IRS code back in 1954. The Amendment makes it illegal for tax-exempt organizations to engage in electioneering, broadly defined as endorsing one political candidate or another.
Tony Dungy Gets Blasted for Being Honest About Michael Sam
Posted on July 30, 2014 in Sexuality by Nathan Cherry
Throughout the draft process the talk about Michael Sam centered around the fact that he is gay, and that he is the first openly gay player seeking to be drafted. There was more talk about his gay-ness than there was about his actual football skill. In fact, I was dumbfounded at the fact that a few commentators were brave enough to say that Sam was not really skilled enough to make the NFL but would most likely be drafted simply because he was gay!
And yet people continue to be “disturbed” by Dungy’s comments or the fact that many people agree with him. One article reported:
Jill Stanek: 15 Reasons Why the Pro-Life Movement is Winning!
Posted on July 29, 2014 in Life by Nathan Cherry
If you weren’t sure if the movement to defend life from conception to natural death was winning or not, the following list should help. Of course the media is in bed with big abortion business so their coverage is skewed to make people think the pro-abortion view is most popular. Wrong.
As Stanek shares, from a number of articles which can be seen here, there is overwhelming evidence to support the fact that the pro-life view is not just winning in courts, but winning in the court of public opinion. More people in America now identify as pro-life and believe abortion should be restricted to extreme cases. The push to protect children with disabilities, children of rape and incest, and even to protect children based on their gender is growing, quickly.
Despite the fact that we have the most pro-abortion president in U.S. history in the White House, more pro-life laws have been passed in the past several years than in the past three decades combined. Despite the media partnership with big abortion business people remain unconvinced that abortion is not murder. As many pro-abortion advocates rightly feared, science is proving the humanity of the unborn in undeniable ways; convincing people more than ever that human life does indeed begin at conception.
Based on the articles Jill Stanek lists in her post at LifeNews.com, here are the 15 reasons abortion advocates say they are losing to the pro-life movement:
How Many People in America are Gay? Does it Matter?
Posted on July 28, 2014 in Marriage, Sexuality by Nathan Cherry
Here’s a quiz for you: What percentage of the American population self-identifies as homosexual?
Think about it. With the massive effort to create homosexual rights, the media reporting every time a person announces to the world that he or she is gay, and all the other hype shoved at each day. What massive, enormous percentage of the American population is languishing under our archaic laws preventing them from marrying?
It must be massive, right? I has to be. People are being fired from their jobs for refusing to support the homosexual lifestyle. Businesses are being shut down because the owners are Christians that refuse to violate their religious convictions. Other Christians are being charged and convicted with hate-crimes for adhering to their convictions that marriage is between one woman and one man.
Surely the percentage of the American population that is homosexual is not just very large, but growing.
VIDEO: Planned Parenthood Tells Young Girl to Watch Porn and Visit Sex Shop
Posted on July 25, 2014 in Sexuality by Nathan Cherry
The first thing that should alarm and disturb anyone about the following video is that begins with the story of a 43-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl “playing sex games.” In my world that’s called statutory rape and constitutes a crime, and yet that is not even the entire story here.
The video becomes more disturbing when you begin to realize that a “15-year-old” girl is being given advice on how to engage in BDSM type of sexual activity. I can’t help but wonder if the Planned Parenthood (PP) worker in the video would be so willing to share this information if the girl’s mother or father was sitting next to her. Then again, Planned Parenthood doesn’t really like parents and is generally willing to do whatever is necessary to circumvent parental authority.
Judge Says Incest is Okay Because: Abortion
Posted on July 24, 2014 in Life, Sexuality by Nathan Cherry
Do you want a picture of the liberal, Utopian society they are seeking to achieve? Here it is:
Incest is acceptable because abortion will rid the world of any deformed children caused by the relationship.
What? Does that shock you? Does that sound absurd? Are you under the impression that such an idea would never be offered by any sane person in our society? Think again.
A judge in Australia offered that exact idea while presiding over a case recently. A man was being tried for repeatedly raping his sister over the course of eight years. When evidence was presented the judge refused to allow it because, he said, incest is a taboo that people are willing to accept these days. A recent article shares the judge’s thoughts:
Sex Education for Parents: Why It Should Matter Who Teaches Your Kids
Posted on July 23, 2014 in Family, Sexuality by Derick Dickens
But here is also where the problem arises. My wife and I talked to our kids about sex from very early in their life. We always answered their questions truthfully, but never more than necessary at every age. When asked how “Mommy got pregnant”, We explained how God designed men and women, and Daddy’s seed fertilized mom’s egg. For a while that satisfied their curiosity. Later they would ask other questions, and the more questions the more detail we gave.
We see sex as a beautiful thing, something wonderfully created, something that is more than a way to orgasm, but full of purpose, meaning, and containing tremendous substance.
Why would I want someone to teach anything less?
More Christians Being Told to Violate Their Religious Convictions

So the Brendan Eich’s, Phil Robertsons, Chick-Fil-A’s and bakers of the world are targets. For that matter all who hold to any view of sexuality that does not affirm any kind of sexuali activity will be a target. So maybe you are okay with homosexuality but you “draw the line” at polygamy, polyamory, or pedophilia; you will soon be just as much a target as those who currently oppose homosexuality.
This is the game, a game of degrees. The way it’s played is to slowly but surely take steps toward the ultimate goal. Those seeking to redefine marriage know full well that to come out and say “we don’t want marriage to exist” or “we support polygamy, pedophilia, and bestiality” would result in nothing less than an overwhelming defeat for their movement. So they move slowly, with what they believe is most palatable to society, two consenting adults that just want to love each other. And, like a great fisherman, society has taken the bait and the hook is sunk.
Understanding the Progressive Sexual Ideology: Sex for Everyone – Even Kids!
Posted on July 18, 2014 in Marriage, Sexuality by Nathan Cherry
At one time sexuality was held within the moral confines of one man one woman marriage. This doesn’t mean that every person adhered to this confine, but it was nonetheless an established, accepted norm for sexual activity. Furthermore, those who abandoned these boundaries were viewed as guilty of…immorality. So the moral boundary of sexual activity carried with it a price for anyone that chose to treat across the boundary.
But a major goal of the LGBT movement and progressive ideology is to eliminate all such boundaries. If sexual boundaries can be eliminated then the sky is the limit in determining what behavior is acceptable. To this end the “hook-up” culture was created and normalized among American youth. The effectiveness is obvious.
