Planned Parenthood Empire Could Come Tumbling Down Under President Trump

The election of Trump coupled with a Republican House and Senate could mean the end of taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood. That is something Republicans and Democrats can support.
Last year a Republican controlled House and Senate passed a bill to defund Planned Parenthood of all taxpayer money. This was a bi-partisan bill that had overwhelming support in Congress. And yet, President Obama vetoed the bill and sent more than $500 million dollars to the abortion merchant.
The American people are tired of funding Planned Parenthood. Republicans and Democrats alike say that tax money should not be used to fund a “non-profit” organization that profits from killing babies. But Planned Parenthood doesn’t just profit from killing babies, they actively seek to kill the unborn so they can sell their body parts. It’s as gruesome and evil as it sounds.
However, with the election of Donald Trump, a self-professed pro-life president, and the strong bi-partisan support for defunding Planned Parenthood in Congress, this year could be different.
It remains to be seen just how pro-life Donald Trump is. There is no evidence to suggest he is a staunch pro-life advocate like, say, Mike Pence. But with Pence at his side perhaps Trump will be more likely to stick to his pro-life promises. One of those campaign promises was to defund Planned Parenthood and pro-life advocates, activists, and lawmakers in Congress are already gearing up to make that happen.
The Family Research Council (FRC) released a statement calling for president-elect Trump and the pro-life majorities in Congress to defund Planned Parenthood. Part of FRC’s statement reads:
“With a pro-life president and pro-life majorities in the House and Senate in 2017, Congress should again pass these provisions in a new budget reconciliation bill and send it to President-elect Donald Trump for signature in law… The pro-life community stands united in its desire to see legislation signed into law to stop funding for abortion providers and to remove Obamacare provisions, which subsidize plans with elective abortion coverage…”
But defunding Planned Parenthood is only one item on president-elect Trump’s agenda. In promising to nominate pro-life justices to the Supreme Court, Trump gave way to the hope that Roe V. Wade would once again come before the court. This is a major goal for pro-life Americans that believe each state should have the right to govern itself concerning the abortion issue.
Planned Parenthood and its allies want us to believe that killing the unborn is a “right.” Apparently the right of the unborn to live is not in consideration. Planned Parenthood is terrified that Roe will make its way back to the Supreme Court because with just one or two more pro-life justices it will no doubt be repealed and once again allow states and citizens to govern.
Of course, Planned Parenthood doesn’t want the abortion issue returning to the states where people can vote for themselves. If that happens it will become evident very quickly just how pro-life America really is. And while it remains to be seen how pro-life our newly elected president is, recent statements about returning the power to the people to vote on the issue of abortion are cause for optimism.
The reality is this; Planned Parenthood cannot survive without tax dollars. There is not enough people that support abortion and utilize the “services” of Planned Parenthood to sustain the abortion merchant. So they are dependent upon our tax dollars. The Obama administration has been more than happy to give them millions of our hard earned dollars at the expense of our pro-life conscience. But, there is a very good chance that that all changes with a Trump presidency.
Not only might we see taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood pulled but also we could see a reinstatement of the Mexico City policy, which would prohibit the government from funding abortion in other countries.
All this is terrifying for Planned Parenthood because they are the largest abortion merchants in the world. They’ve worked hard to expand their abortion empire across the globe and a removal of the Mexico City policy was a jewel in their bloody crown. But all that could be changing soon and most Americans will be all too happy to support a ban on federal dollars supporting the abortion industry.
And, most Americans will be all too happy when the issue is returned to the states so “we the people” can have a vote. As a recent FRC article made clear, our voice was removed in 1973 when the Supreme Court decided to rule on the issue.
“Moreover, telling people that abortion policy-making will be returned to their hands is a powerful and truthful way of challenging the Left’s narrative that Roe is a ‘right’ for the people and that ‘right’ will be taken away if Roe is overturned. The truth is, the Supreme Court disenfranchised the people when it took the abortion issue out of our hands in 1973. It took away our right to govern ourselves on this vitally important matter. Roe is anti-democratic as well as anti-constitutional. When Roe is corrected, the right of the people to govern ourselves will be restored.”
