A New Industry Will Make Sexual Harassment and Violence Much Worse

The deafening silence from women as sex-dolls rise in popularity is disturbing.
Surrounded by the #metoo movement, we are forced to take a hard look at the factors that have contributed to our current situation. The easier part of this movement is to blame the attitudes, habits, and characteristics we don’t like in other people. Hence, blaming “toxic masculinity” has become a go-to for many.
While there is a rightful place for a discussion on the aspects of masculinity that need rebuked ans refined, it can’t be the sole focus. In fact, any focus that points the finger exclusively at one gender is already mistaken.
Both men and women have been enthusiastic supporters of the sexual revolution. Sex without commitment (called marriage), abortion on demand, and innumerable sexual partners have all led us to this point. Men saw it as a “coming out” of sorts, as they could be “real men” without needing to hide in the shadows. Women were told, and agreed, that the sexual revolution would finally liberate them from the Puritan morals that served to enslave them.
As the sexual revolution marched forward, men and women became increasingly comfortable with hook-ups, friends with benefits, no-fault divorce, and abortion. It was the paradise we were told awaited if we could just get past those stuffy old morals crammed down our throats at church when we were kids.
Now, after decades of ignoring the morals that constrained undesirable human behavior, we have come to the point when the message of the sexual revolution conflicts with the morals we desire in our fellow human beings. No commitment sex has produced an epidemic of fatherlessness. Abortion demand has killed a generation. No-fault divorce has led to a litigious society preferring to walk away than to work on it.
The sexual revolution has also produced mixed messages that can only be considered hypocritical. Feminists demand respect while advocating for legal prostitution and pornography. It’s hard to take seriously the claims of a group that are upset over sexual harassment while they simultaneously endorse multiple means leading to harassment. Feminists decry our “rape culture” while proudly supporting fashion trends and industries (pornography) that objectify women. You can’t have it both ways.
A practical example is in the rise of the sex-doll industry. In recent years the sex-doll industry has grown exponentially. Dolls made os silicone, metal, and rubber have grown into an international business growing at a rapid pace. Dolls customized to the exact specifications of any customer can be ordered from any number of factories. And if you thought the unrealistic body image portrayed by Hollywood and Barbie was bad, wait until you see what can be made to order.
Despite the warning signs of what the proliferation of a made-to-order sex doll industry means for a society dealing with rape-culture and #metoo, it’s eerily silent.
I would have thought feminists would be up in arms over this new technology. I would have thought boycotts and demonstrations to demand an end to an industry sure to make our hyper-sexualized culture worse. And yet, silence. No ranting feminists making sure we all know how evil this industry is. No political rallies intended to force Washington to take action. Silence.
What do we reasonably think the outcome will be when households across our landscape have made-to-order sex dolls in them? Here’s some consequences we can prepare for now:
1. Dating will once again change as fewer men “waste time” spending money on women only to find that their date “just wants to be friends,” again.
2. Sex will grow increasingly less intimate and more about immediate physical pleasure based in selfishness rather than serving.
3. Sex will become detached from the male-female relationship and focus more on immediate gratification without commitment.
4. Our current trouble with sexual harassment and sexual violence will increase as men bored with artificial sexual partners take out their aggression on biological women.
It’s time to be honest and admit that the sexual revolution has led us here. We’ve divorced sex from commitment, relationship, trust and intimacy. We’ve made it okay to see women as objects to be desired and to fulfill our sexual needs. The increase in sexual harassment and violence is a natural result of our moral-less views on sex and marriage. Sex-dolls won’t make it better.
If feminists want anyone to take them seriously it would be helpful if they were consistent in their message. If you don’t want men to objectify women, don’t support the means that allow such objectification; namely legal prostitution, pornography, and sex outside marriage. If you want men to see you as equal and respect you, you have to show the same respect to every female – including the unborn.
You can look away and pretend this is a fad that will go away. You’d be sorely mistaken. As AI advances it will only lead to more intuitive, obedient sex-dolls (slaves) that will render women unnecessary to many men. Sex and procreation will become business transactions between interested parties.
The objectification of women that began with pornography and free love is taking an awful turn. Customizable sex dolls further prove that we still have not learned that sex and parenting are done best within the confines of a committed marriage.
