Why Feminists Will Hate the Day Judge Amy Barrett is Nominated to the Supreme Court

Posted on July 24, 2018 in Public Policy by

Amy BarrettThe full hypocrisy and true agenda of feminism will be on display when President Trump nominates Amy Barrett for the Supreme Court.

The imminent retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy from the Supreme Court is liberals’ worst nightmare. His vacancy gave President Trump another opportunity to nominate a conservative justice dedicated to originalism. Another Antonin Scalia, if you will. The feeling that President Trump would nominate Judge Amy Barrett didn’t work out…this time.

Democrats and liberals alike were terrified that Trump would nominate a highly qualified judge with little to question or attack. This would leave no other choice than to go off the rails and and launch unconscionable attacks against things such as the nominee’s faith. (Remember when Sen. Feinstein issued an unconstitutional religious test against Amy Barrett?)

Since we’re talking about Judge Amy Barrett, it’s notable to mention that she’s (still) on President Trump’s short list. Many analysts predicted that Trump would nominate Barrett this time around. Some said such a nomination would be “political genius.” Not only was Barrett confirmed to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in October of 2017, making it hard to not confirm her to the Supreme Court. But she is a highly qualified woman, wife, and mother; making her the feminist movements worst nightmare.

When nominated, Judge Barrett will reveal once again just how antagonistic the feminist movement is towards women. Not all women, just conservative women that are pro-life. While claiming to affirm women’s rights, the feminist movement has become little more than an arm for the Democratic party in promoting abortion, LGBTQ issues, and anti-male sentiment.

If you hate men, or at least want too rule over your husband with an iron fist while emasculating him as you proudly promote abortion-rights for all, you can be part of the feminist movement. Supporting women in the workplace, especially in traditionally male-dominated arenas has been a central focus of the feminist movement. Supporting Judge Barrett should be a no-brainer.

As a recent article makes clear, Judge Barrett is the “poster-lady for contemporary career women:”

“[P]utting forth Judge Barrett as his candidate as an entirely qualified, recently Senate-approved, woman judge who is on record as resisting personal feelings in the application of the law, and is in all respects a poster-lady for contemporary career women and for devoted wives and mothers, with five natural and two adopted (Haitian) children.”

What could be more pro-woman than nominating a woman like Judge Barrett to the highest court in the land? What could bring people of both political stripes together better than showing support for a hard-working wife and mother?

This nomination truly could be political genius for President Trump as the staunchly Democratic feminist movement stands to lose support by opposing a career woman being nominated to one of the most prestigious positions in the country. The hypocrisy of the “feminist” movement will once again be on display. The conversation will look something like this:

Feminists: “We oppose this nomination.”
Females: “Why? She’s a hard-working woman, wife, mother, entering a male-dominated space and rising to the top spot in her field.”
Feminists: “She opposes abortion.”
Females: “Okay. Is that all we care about?”
Feminists: “Yes.”

That might be an oversimplification. But the conversations that will take place around the country will boil down to this theme. Feminists simply will not support any woman that does not proudly support abortion on demand. Countless women have abandoned any association with the feminist movement for this reason.

When Judge Barrett is nominated, the feminist movement will reveal their true agenda, their main motivation: abortion. It will also reveal yet again the deep ties between the movement and abortion rights groups like Planned Parenthood. You will see “real feminists” like Cecil Richards and Gloria Steinem explain why women cannot support Judge Barrett while calling for Congresswomen to oppose the nomination.

All the drama will reveal that the feminist movement does not, in fact, represent a majority of American women. Just as the #metoo movement revealed that Hollywood is completely out of touch with the values most Americans hold dear; nominating Judge Barrett will reveal the feminist movement as a fringe group out of touch with the values of American women.

The feminist movement is drawing near to a reckoning of its own. As it alienates more women it will become less about women and more about political power. In doing so, it will fully transform into the thing it claims to hate: an oppressive political establishment.
