West Virginia Lawmakers Ready to Override Governor Veto – If Necessary

Posted on February 4, 2015 in Life by

West Virginia did something historic last fall when citizens of the state changed the color of the legislature from blue to red. It has been 80 years since Republicans had a majority voice in the state house. But citizens made their displeasure with current leadership clear when many Democratic incumbents were ousted in favor of Republican challengers. The same trend carried to federal races where two long-time Democratic congressional seats were won by Republicans.

After this historic “West Virginia Red Wave” the question on everyone’s mind was “will Republicans take advantage of this opportunity and actually do something?”

It seems the answer to that question is becoming clearer concerning one of the most pressing issues in our state.

West Virginia is one of just 9 states that have absolutely no abortion laws. An unborn child can be aborted up to the moment of birth for any reason in the state of West Virginia despite the fact that most of our residents identify as pro-life. The fact that ur state is primarily pro-life can also be seen in the fact that most of our elected officials are pro-life; even many among the Democratic party. West Virginians value life.

But last year when a bi-partisan majority in the state legislature passed our version of the pain capable unborn child protection act, our “pro-life” governor vetoed it. Gov. Tomblin said simply that he thought it was unconstitutional and therefore vetoed it.

Video: Matt Chandler Nails Abortion Rhetoric to the Wall as “Nazi-Germany Excrement”

Posted on January 26, 2015 in Life by

In this short video, Pastor Matt Chandler discusses the issue of abortion around the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision. (The video is about a year old.)

Chandler starts out by reminding us all that when this landmark decision was handed down in 1973 that the science of pregnancy and the unborn was far different than it is today. Back then we didn’t know just how fully developed unborn children were at 8 weeks, 12 weeks, and 20 weeks. One of the most regrettable decision in American history was made not knowing that the unborn can feel pain as early as 20 weeks (for certain) but perhaps even earlier; making abortion nothing less than the legal torture and murder of innocent unborn children.

One of the aspects of this video that makes it important is the fact that Chandler is the pastor of a Southern Baptist Church. Up until roughly 1979 the Southern Baptist Convention endorsed and support abortion. Thankfully, realizing their mistake, the convention renounced this position and has been a tireless defender of life ever since.

I particularly enjoyed Chandler’s treatment of the pro-abortion rhetoric that a “woman gets to choose what she does with her body.” He frankly calls that lack of logic “bull” and suggests a woman “go prostitute” herself to see if she is truly free to do what she wants with her body.

This Viral Video is Changing Minds About Abortion

Posted on January 12, 2015 in Life by

We all know that “false advertising” can get you in a lot of trouble. It’s not right to advertise something as one way that is altogether different than reality. So it’s hard to believe that abortionists freely lie to patients about what abortion is, and what it will do the baby inside the womb. And yet, Planned Parenthood is a master of lying to unsuspecting women.

Live Action though, the pro-life organization headed by Lila Rose, has once again gone undercover to expose the lies of Planned Parenthood. In their latest video, “What Is Human?” Live Action records an abortionist in Arizona blatantly lying to a woman about the fact that the child inside her womb is indeed a living, breathing human being worthy of protection. Instead, Planned Parenthood prefers to lie in order to coerce women into killing their unborn children.

An article at LifeNews.com reports that the video is not just “changing the debate about abortion, but it is prompting strong reaction from viewers.”

“Launched as part of Live Action’s ‘Inhuman’ investigation, ‘What is Human?’ is not only changing the debate about abortion, but it is prompting strong reaction from viewers. With over 23,000 comments on the Facebook post and its shares, this video is generating important dialogue about the violence of abortion, and the humanity of the preborn. After watching the short film, some viewers who shared the video said they were now more pro-life than ever, while others even went so far as to say the video changed their minds about abortion:”

Video: Sand Castle Competition Entry Shares Pro-Life Message in Amazing Way

The video below is of an entry to the Siesta Key Crystal Classic Master Sand Sculpting Competition. That’s a mouthful for sure. But the competition happens each year in Florida, with people coming from as far away as the Philippines to compete. The week long event boasts some of the most intricate and amazing sand sculptures imagined.

The sculpture chosen as “the people’s choice” this year is called “The Miracle of Life.” The sculpture shows an infant cradled in the hands of his parents, or perhaps even his Creator. The motivation for the sculpture is unknown, but the message is undeniable: Life is a Miracle. And because life is a miracle it should be defended at all times. The idea that it is acceptable to kill an unborn child, a child with an illness or handicap, runs counter to our nature. We instinctively know it’s wrong to kill defenseless people.

Watch the video below to see a better view of this amazing sculpture. It’s hard to believe it was done entirely out of sand but it is absolutely amazing.

Disturbing Video Praises “Bro-choice” Abortion Supporters

Posted on November 28, 2014 in Life by

According to groups like Planned Parenthood and NARAL men are not allowed to interject their thoughts concerning abortion because it is a “woman’s right” issue. That is, of course, unless you are a man that supports abortion, then it’s not just acceptable but encouraged that you speak up. The obvious hypocrisy is hard to stomach.

The video below is also hard to stomach. (Warning: graphic images and language.)

The video highlights the “Bro-choice” movement, which is men that believe if a woman is pregnant, and he wants her to have an abortion, she should be forced to have the abortion. The sick, twisted nature of this movement is hard to fathom. Especially in light of places like China where women are routinely subjected to forced abortion. To think that someone would hold the position that a woman should be “forced against her will” to have an abortion is an egregious affront to human dignity and worth; not to mention civil rights.

Should Terminal Patients Like Brittany Maynard Kill Themselves?

Posted on November 12, 2014 in Life by

At 29 years old Brittany Maynard was given a terminal diagnosis. The brain cancer was terminal and in April she was given 6 months to live. Maynard then decided to her family to Oregon to take advantage of the state’s right-to-die law; which allows a person to take lethal medication to end her life “with dignity.”

Maynard decided to end her life on November 1. After much media attention and national pleading she seemed to change her mind. But then news spread across the nation on Sunday, November 2 that Brittany had taken her life.

Maynard and others want to “die with dignity, on my terms, my time, my way.”

But I have a problem with this use of speech.

Are You Pro-Life? It’s Because You’ve Been Brainwashed!

Posted on October 23, 2014 in Life by

Do you believe that life begins at conception?

Do you believe that every child, from conception to birth should be vigorously defended?

Do you believe that abortion on demand is cruel, evil, sinful, or wrong?

Did you know that you only believe those things because you are a simplistic minion incapable of intelligent, independent thought that has been brainwashed by “evil pro-lifers”?

That is the conclusion of a new book proudly advocating abortion on demand and the book review given by a staunch abortion supporter.

The book is “Pro: Reclaiming Abortion Rights” by Katha Pollitt. The book has received glowing reviews from the usual sources in mainstream media. But one in particular, Slate’s Hanna Rosin, is particularly excited about the book.

Quiz: Do You Know How to Prevent Pregnancy? Apparently There’s Some Confusion.

Posted on July 15, 2014 in Life, Sexuality by

Okay, now that we have the formalities out of the way let’s move on and discuss why anyone would disagree with the fact that abstinence is the only way to avoid pregnancy.

Only a conservative person could possibly draw the ire of liberals by daring to make the statement that pregnancy is 100% preventable by abstinence. Logically, factually, scientifically, this is an accurate statement. The problem is that many liberals don’t live in a logical, factual, scientific world, they live in a world where emotions, desires, and preference reign supreme.

So when a person, let’s say, Rush Limbaugh, says that pregnancy is preventable by women “if they didn’t do a certain thing,” of course liberals get angry.

Limbaugh was responding to a radio caller who was trying to reconcile the fact that the government believes it necessary to mandate coverage for birth control and abortion pills but not dental or eye exams. Hmm, there’s a great question for the ObamaCare framers. Limbaugh responded to the caller by saying:

“Pastors” Use God to Support Abortion in Planned Parenthood Letter – Again!

Posted on July 12, 2014 in Life by

Remember that “Pastoral Letter” sent out by Planned Parenthood to support abortion? The one that was so offensive they removed it from their website? Well, it seems that they have drafted a second “pastoral letter” supporting women who kill their unborn children. This letter shows the names of the “Religious Affairs Committee” and the denominations they represent. Not surprising is the fact that most of the denominations represented are dying and desperately seeking to fill pews. Even more shocking is that any “pastor” would dare support the intentional murder of an unborn child. See the cover page of the letter and the text of the letter below. 9 Questions to Ask An Abortionist

Posted on June 24, 2014 in Life by

Josh Brahm, writing at LifeNews.com, shared the 9 questions he would like to ask an abortionist over coffee. After reading his thoughts it was easy to agree and recognize that I would like to ask many of these same questions. I think you will find yourself agreeing as well. Take a minute to check out his questions and see if you would like to ask the same questions of an abortionist, or, do you have other questions you would like to ask.

If I could meet with an abortionist, I might ask one or more of these questions:

#1: Are you married?

When I interviewed my friend Abby Johnson for this article, she explained that when she meets an abortionist for the first time, she tries to get to know him and doesn’t ask a ton of questions. “Spend most of your first meeting listening to him,” Abby said. “Get to know him! Is he married? What’s his family like? Does he have kids? What do they love to do? Ask the kinds of questions you would ask someone at your church that you’re getting to know.”
