VDEO: Powerful Hip-Hop Video “Life On Mars” Confronts Definition of Life
Posted on June 28, 2016 in Life by Nathan Cherry
An odd irony I’ve often wondered about is the various definitions of life employed by our culture. It would seem that the definition of life is fixed: if you’re alive, you’re alive. But that doesn’t seem to be the case. The most glaring example of this is seen in discussions of finding life on planet Mars.
Scientists are hoping to find life on Mars. And by life they mean any simple, single-celled organism they can deem alive. However, many of these same scientists would look at an unborn child with all of it’s millions of cells and beating heart, and refuse to admit that it is a living human being. It takes some philosophical gymnastics to arrive at that conclusion.
A new music video by a Christian hip-hop artist addresses this very hypocrisy.
Dove Award winning artist Je’Kob recently released the video for his song “Life On mars,” which discusses the definition of life. (The video is posted below.)
In the video, Je’Kob addresses the idea that bacteria found on Mars is considered “life” while a baby inside the womb is not given this protected status. He sings:
“Don’t let them find one organism, & got the nerve to call that life,
“Yet they say that my baby’s not alive until it lives outside my wife
“Why are we looking for life on Mars
“When don’t respect life on our Planet Earth, Planet Earth, Planet Earth.”

VIDEO: When People See Abortion They Change Their Mind About Supporting Abortion
Posted on June 21, 2016 in Life by Nathan Cherry
The video below has been circulating social media for a couple of weeks now. The video shows people being asked if they are pro-choice or pro-life. When they answer that they are pro-choice, they are shown a video of what a typical first trimester abortion looks like. Their reactions are recorded as they watch the video. Once the video is finished they are asked if their opinions have changed concerning abortion.
Everyone changes their mind.
Years ago Fr. Frank Pavone said “America won’t reject abortion until it sees abortion.” Maybe he knew how preceisely accurate his words were, maybe not. But watching this video makes it clear that many people simply don’t understand just how human the unborn are, and what terrible torture abortion really is.
I hope this video continues to circulate social media and that many more minds will be changed because of it. There is no doubt that more people are pro-life today than ever before. We need to continue to educate people on the atrocity of abortion and reject the culture of death that Planned Parenthood and its partners want us to accept.
And, let’s not forget the unborn when we vote for a president in November.
The Reason I Don’t Own Pets Has To Do With Harambe the Ape
Posted on June 15, 2016 in Life, Theology by Nathan Cherry
I had pets growing up. Many of my friends and family today have pets. I don’t have any pets. My kids really like animals and would love to have a pet, but so far I’ve refused to get any pets. One reason for this decision is that I would be a really bad pet owner. I should probably explain that statement.
Pet ownership has gone to a whole new level of crazy in our culture. You can find pet spas, pet resorts, and all manner of comforts and conveniences for your pet: sweaters, shoes, lounge chairs and houses nicer than the people down the street. People now refer to themselves as parents simply because they own a pet and there is a section of greeting cards that is from the pet to the owner (who exactly fills out and signs that card?).
When I say I would be a bad pet owner it’s not because I abuse or neglect animals but because I treat them like…animals. I don’t buy pets expensive food, I don’t celebrate their birthday, and if you call me a parent because I own pets I’m liable to punch you in the throat. I don’t see animals as being on the same level as humans or in any way equal. So the lengths to which some people go to own a pet is beyond my comprehension. (I know a retired lady concerned about running out of money but she refuses to stop taking her dog to groomers or buying unbelievably expensive medicines.)
What I Should Have Said to the Doctor That Insulted My Baby

I thought it was going to be another relaxing Sunday afternoon. I enjoy our family rest day as we go to church together then gather at my parents’ house for lunch. Then we get to rest for the remainder of the day and enjoy family time as we prepare for our week. It’s my favorite day of the week.
But this Sunday would turn out to be very different.
Few outside of our families knew that my wife was pregnant. This was our fourth child and we didn’t see a need to make a big deal of it. Besides, there is a lot going on with our family and we had little time for much else. So besides our families not many people were even aware she was about 11 weeks along.
Well, we thought she was 11 weeks along.
The Guy that Exposed Planned Parenthood is Fighting Back Against Corrupt District Attorney
Posted on April 28, 2016 in Life by Nathan Cherry
In short, during the grand jury proceedings, which are supposed to be secret, it appears that Devon Anderson’s office provided material evidence against Planned Parenthood to Planned Parenthood and their attorney’s! So even though Planned Parenthood was supposed to be the subject of the investigation and grand jury, it seems quite obvious that Devon Anderson made sure David Daleiden and his undercover videos were being investigated. The word “corrupt” comes to mind.
Then again, let’s be honest. Planned Parenthood has been involved in more scandals than Hillary Clinton; and that is really saying something. Every other month a new scandal involving illegal practices, illegal money, and false statements surfaces. Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards spends half her time schmoozing abortion activists in Congress for money and the rest of her time putting out the fires resulting from illegal activity.
AWWW…These Photos of Baby Animals are Amazingly Cute
Posted on April 19, 2016 in Life by Nathan Cherry
If you like seeing baby animals, you will love the photos that National Geographic producer Peter Chinn has created using 3D ultrasound, computer graphics, and small cameras. (Pictures below the break)
The images are possibly unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. As they reveal details of these baby animals that most people never get to see in real life. The elephant, Cheetah, and Polar Bears are stunning. The last image in particular is amazing for its clarity and detail.
It occurs to me that any person viewing these images will immediately admit that these are living creatures. Furthermore, most people would be quick to say that we need to do everything in our power to protect and defend these unborn animals. We support laws against cruelty; laws against illegal killing; and laws to ensure they are protected from the time they are in the womb to the time they die naturally. What I’m unclear about is how anyone could make such an admission regarding these animals and then support killing an unborn human baby. What exactly is the difference?
Take a moment and look at these incredible pictures below and allow yourself to marvel at the miracle of life.
Hillary Clinton Has Some Shocking Comments Regarding the Unborn
Posted on April 13, 2016 in Life, Public Policy by Nathan Cherry
Significant progress has been made concerning the defense of the unborn across our country. State legislatures are enacting pro-life laws to defend the unborn at a record pace. Abortion clinics are closing in historic numbers and currently there is far fewer clinics than there was just 15 years ago. As a nation, we are moving towards defending the unborn as science continually affirms the humanity of children in their mother’s womb.
But despite the reality that a majority of Americans want abortion reform; despite a majority of Americans claiming to be pro-life; two presidential candidates want to move us backwards and undo the significant progress made.
In an interview recently, candidate Hillary Clinton made it clear that she believes abortion is more of a right than life for the unborn. She made this statement:
Pro-Abortion Student Decides to Challenge Ben Shapiro on Life-Learns Quickly That May Have Been a Bad Idea
Posted on April 5, 2016 in Life by Nathan Cherry
Every once in a while an exchange between a pro-life and pro-abortion advocate catches my attention. Sometimes these are thought-provoking exchanges resulting from civil discourse by educated people that are seeking to exchange ideas. And sometimes…not so much.
The video below shows an exchange between Ben Shapiro, a conservative commentator, author, and lawyer, and a Salisbury University student. Shapiro was speaking at the Maryland University when he decided to open the floor for questions. A pro-abortion supporter decided to take the opportunity to challenge Shapiro’s views on life and the legality of abortion. That led to the following exchange which was captured on video.
After watching this exchange I have one conclusion: many pro-abortion advocates have nothing to offer but rhetoric and media talking points.
Watch the video for yourself (posted below) and see if you can find any logic, reason, or anything remotely valuable in the pro-abortion advocates arguments. Here is a brief section of the discussion between Shapiro and the student:
Rep. Diane Black Responds to Actress That Said She had Never Regretted Her Abortion in Powerful Letter
Posted on March 17, 2016 in Life by Nathan Cherry
Amy Brenneman decided to share her abortion story with the world. She was candid in her admission that she has “never, not for one moment, regretted my abortion.” She decided to share this aspect of her life in hopes of raising more support for abortion. Her concern that abortion is losing support to the pro-life movement prompted her to tell the world how proud she was of her own abortion.
In response to Brenneman’s story, Rep. Diane Black, a staunch pro-life Congresswoman that had a 40 year career as a nurse has written an open letter to the actress. Rep. Black wrote her letter with the utmost respect and civility, something often missing from political discourse today. Rep. Black even apologized for the lack of “compassion and empathy” on the part of pro-lifers in the past, saying:
“I also know that some who, like me, identify as pro-life and oppose abortion have not always conveyed that opinion with the compassion and empathy that should be afforded to this topic on both sides of the debate, and for that I am sorry.”
But at the heart of Rep. Black’s letter is the firm conviction that life must be defended from the moment of conception if we are truly going to claim to be the land of the free.
Read Rep. Black’s powerful letter in its entirety below. Let us be reminded that while those fighting for abortion are often ideological hypocrites, they still deserve our respect and civility in discourse. I thank Rep. Black for her tireless effort to defend the most vulnerable among us. She is no doubt part of the reason so many young women are pro-life and standing together to defend the unborn.
