The Lottery: Government Sanctioned Gambling Preying on the Poor
Posted on March 21, 2018 in Money, Public Policy by Nathan Cherry
The lottery, then, is nothing less than another tax enacted by the government on (sometimes) unsuspecting people. And though the lottery is a voluntary tax, it is often pushed by media hype as the growing jackpot becomes a focal point of the news. And though studies have long-shown the financial damage caused by the lottery to lower-income people, this tax doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon. The government is not likely to end such a large revenue stream. So the preying goes on.
The #1 Way to Take Advantage of the New Tax Bill

As a financial professional I work with people newly retired, nearing retirement, or hoping to one day retire accumulate assets, preserve assets, and protect assets. It’s a job involving comprehensive financial planning, asset management, and budgeting. All of the parts have to work together to make sure someone doesn’t outlive their money, among other things. But all this planning can be brought to a screeching halt for one reason:
Pro Life Governor Defunds Abortion Industry; Directs Funds to Help Women
Posted on September 12, 2017 in Life by Nathan Cherry
This is an important distinction as many abortion providers will often be allowed to receive tax dollars and then use those funds to pay for administrative costs, lease agreements, or other “non-abortion related” costs. This is how abortion providers get around funding prohibitions on abortion. This is also how Planned Parenthood can accept hundreds of millions of tax dollars and claim that they are not used for abortion. But this order is different in that it makes clear that any facility or doctor that is even affiliated with an abortion business is now ineligible to receive those tax dollars.
A recent article states:
President Trump Continues to Deliver on His Pro-Life Promises

The newly reinstated Mexico City policy is being expanded to include many more U.S. agencies and a greater pool of funds.
One of the firsts actions President Trump took after taking office in January was to reinstate the Mexico City policy. This policy says that funds given to organizations for international health care efforts cannot be used to promote or perform abortions. These nongovernment organizations must agree not to promote or perform abortion or support coercive and forced sterilization efforts in the countries they provide health care aid.
Maryland Will Take Funds from Low-Income Families to Pay for Abortion
Posted on April 26, 2017 in Life, Public Policy by Nathan Cherry
A law requiring Maryland taxpayers to fund Planned Parenthood if the federal government defunds the abortion merchant will go into effect on July 1. The law sat on Gov. Hogan’s desk but did not receive his signature or a veto. This means, without his support, the law will go into effect. Why the self-described pro-life governor did not veto the legislation is unclear.
The law stipulates that if the federal government defunds Planned Parenthood, Maryland will take $2 million from the Medicaid fund for low-income families and give it to the abortion chain. Another $700,000 from the state’s general fund will also be given. Rather than helping low-income families with their healthcare, Maryland has decided to prioritize abortion. And all of it will be paid for with our tax money.
5 Tax Tips You Don’t Want to Miss Out On

Now that the “most wonderful time of the year” is behind us, it’s time for the most dreaded time of the year: tax season. But if you take advantage of these tax breaks you can make this time of a year a lot more jolly.
We can all agree that no one likes paying taxes. As a financial professional I spend time talking about taxes with a lot of people and nearly everyone agrees that they don’t like paying taxes. I did run into one person that said she did not mind paying taxes and, frankly, I had no comment for that. I don’t know where to go when someone says they don’t mind taxes.
For most of us though, taxes are not something we enjoy. But they are necessary. Since we have to pay taxes we should at least know about the different tax breaks we can take advantage of to help reduce our tax burden. Let me share 5 valuable tax breaks with you.
Friends in Maryland: Did You Know Your Elected Officials Were Doing This?

The previous administration refused to even consider defunding Planned Parenthood, despite bi-partisan support. The Trump administration has said, however, that it is willing to cut funding. That seems like a no-brainer considering the bi-partisan support and overall common sense it makes.
In case you aren’t aware that a majority of people want to see Planned Parenthood defunded, a recent article reports:
“A recent survey found that community health centers not only provide more comprehensive health care than Planned Parenthood, excluding abortions, they also outnumber the abortion group’s facilities by 20 to one.”
Democrats in Maryland have responded by saying they will take the tax dollars of Maryland residents approximately, $2.7 million annually, and send it to Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood Empire Could Come Tumbling Down Under President Trump
Posted on December 1, 2016 in Life by Nathan Cherry
Last year a Republican controlled House and Senate passed a bill to defund Planned Parenthood of all taxpayer money. This was a bi-partisan bill that had overwhelming support in Congress. And yet, President Obama vetoed the bill and sent more than $500 million dollars to the abortion merchant.
The American people are tired of funding Planned Parenthood. Republicans and Democrats alike say that tax money should not be used to fund a “non-profit” organization that profits from killing babies. But Planned Parenthood doesn’t just profit from killing babies, they actively seek to kill the unborn so they can sell their body parts. It’s as gruesome and evil as it sounds.
New Videos Reveal Depth of Planned Parenthood Wickedness – All for Money

The damage Planned Parenthood (PP) has suffered as a result of the undercover videos being released showing how their organization harvests and sells aborted baby body parts for profit has been massive.
To date, several large corporate sponsors have ended their contributions to the abortion giant. More than a dozen governors in various states have ordered investigations into the PP operations in their state. And a bill to defund PP from all public funding has been fast tracked in Congress. All in all, it’s been a rough few weeks for Planned Parenthood.
I, for one, couldn’t be happier.
Planned Parenthood is a vile, criminal organization that has preyed on minority women for years. Founded by Margaret Sanger, a woman that encouraged eugenics, and was known for her racist leanings, PP has done nothing to help society since it was founded. Go ahead, google Margaret Sanger, read some of the things she wrote. If our society is going to flip out over the confederate flag then surely we have to close PP as a result of their racist history. Right?
The last two videos released – video 3 and video 4 – reveal further damaging comments by high ranking PP officials as to exactly what goes on behind closed doors. In video three we learn:
