Happiness Is The Day Planned Parenthood No Longer Exists
Posted on September 2, 2015 in Life by Nathan Cherry
You know what makes me happy? Planned Parenthood having a really bad day makes me extremely happy. When Planned Parenthood loses state funding, gets sued, has the truth exposed throughout the media (which rarely happens thanks to a liberal media); those events make me happy.
Why am I so happy when Planned Parenthood has a bad day?
The answer is simply that when Planned Parenthood has a bad day it means unborn children will live.
For all their claims that Planned Parenthood cares about women and seeks to improve “women’s health care,” the truth is that they care about nothing more than killing babies and making money. The undercover videos that have been released over the last few weeks have proven that over and over again as the conversation surrounds money and “volume.”
In fact, in the latest video the CEO of StemExpress, a biotech company that gets aborted baby body parts from Planned Parenthood, says they contract with Planned Parenthood because “they’re a volume institution.” This makes clear that the reputation Planned Parenthood has around the country is for the number of abortions they perform each year, nothing more. No one thinks of Planned Parenthood when they think of quality health care – their facilities are frequently cited for being filthy. No one thinks of PP when they think of community service – they are situated in minority neighborhoods to pretty on unsuspecting minority women in accordance with the racist beliefs of their founder Margaret Sanger.
Christians Should Not Be Smug About the Ashley Madison Website Hack
Posted on September 1, 2015 in Marriage by Nathan Cherry
I’m sure many people were glad when the cheating website Ashley Madison was hacked and the identity of its users was revealed. I know I was. I thought “serves people right.” But very quickly the depth of hurt inflicted on many families across the country became very real to me and my initial happiness was turned to sorrow for the hurting families.
I think there is a tendency among Christians to assume that the only people that use such websites as Ashley Madison are contemptuous people that deserve whatever happens when they are finally exposed. What we tend to forget is that many of the users are friends, neighbors, and pastors.
The people who signed up for the cheating website are not just anonymous men and women with no families, reputations or careers. They are husbands and fathers, wives and mothers, deacons, elders, and pastors. The extent of hurt and heartache inflicted by this single act may never truly be known. But one thing is for sure, no one should be laughing.
Consider, according to Christian culture analyst Ed Stetzer, roughly 400 pastors, elders, and deacons resigned their position on Sunday. We may be tempted to think that a good thing, that they should not be allowed to serve. Whether that’s true or not remains to be seen. But what about the churches? If that number is correct then 400 churches just lost key leaders. And with a shortage of qualified leaders already causing issues among churches, the enemy, Satan, is surely smiling.
8th Planned Parenthood Video: More Livers and Mailing Baby Heads
Posted on August 31, 2015 in Life by Nathan Cherry
The undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood are disturbing, sickening, and apparently not enough to shut the organization down. That part disturbs me most. Somehow the fact that this vile organization continue to cut up unborn children and mail their body parts for profit has not caused them any legal trouble.
In the latest video the CEO of StemExpress, the company that partnered with Planned Parenthood to ship aborted baby body parts, is discussing how they need more livers, ship baby heads to preserve the brains, and the unsanitary conditions of many abortions clinics. She even discusses the methods they use to hide the fact that these are human body parts being shipped because some places don’t want to know. It brings a whole new meaning to the term “don’t ask don’t tell.

I Challenge Anyone to Give Me a Reason to Support Planned Parenthood
Posted on August 26, 2015 in Life by Nathan Cherry
What possible reason could a rational person give for supporting Planned Parenthood?
I suppose someone might say that they “do a lot of good things”? Though I’ve not seen or heard evidence of any such good deeds, it might be possible. But is that a good enough reason to support the whole sale slaughter of millions of children every year and the outright barbarity of selling aborted baby body parts for money?
You know, it occurs to me that Hitler did a lot of good things. He greatly increased the infrastructure of Germany and developed the industry of the country. In fact, he was beloved by many for his “humanitarian efforts” in the country. But he also tried to wipe out an entire race of people. For that reason history does not look favorably on Hitler and no one seeks to hold him up as a model of good works.
So why is anyone defending an organization that primarily exists to kill unborn children? What good could possibly overcome the mountains of evil perpetrated by Planned Parenthood? For that matter, how much good does someone have to do in order to overcome the evil of ripping an unborn child apart to sell its body parts?
In recent months the Dixie flag, a symbol of heritage and family pride for many, has been removed from the public eye for its racist ties. If a flag can be condemned for racism, why isn’t Planned Parenthood condemned for the racism of its founder, Margaret Sanger? Sanger founded Planned Parenthood with the goal of eliminating African-American babies because she believed they were inferior. And somehow Congress, and our President, still finds it acceptable to applaud this organization?
In the 7th undercover video, various Planned Parenthood doctors and executives describe altering the abortion procedure in order to obtain the organs they need to sell. The video shows that at times abortionists with Planned Parenthood will even seek to remove parts from an infant that survives the abortion procedure and is born alive. One article reports:
Can A Christian Support Homosexuality and Same-Sex Relationships?
Posted on August 25, 2015 in Marriage, Sexuality by Nathan Cherry
That’s a loaded question isn’t it? One that continues to be hotly debated in our culture and in the corners of churches across the country. It’s not like many of the other hotly debated theological questions because, unlike the millennium, the mode of baptism, and worship wars; this question carries eternal consequences.
Few of the theological discussions taking place today affect the eternal destination of a person. Consider, whether you are pre-trib, mid-trib, or post-trip, your salvation is secure. Whether you believe in a literal millennial reign of Christ on earth or not in no way affects your salvation. And whether you were baptized three times forward, once backward, or with a bucket over the head doesn’t change your eternal destiny.
But that isn’t true for the question of homosexuality.
There is significant evidence that homosexuality is a moral sin to be repented of (Romans 1:26-28; Lev. 18:22; I Cor. 6:9-11; I Tim. 1:10). These verses, and others, indicate that homosexuality is a sin God finds offensive, an affront to His design for man and woman and marriage. That being the case, it stands to reason that only by repenting of homosexuality can a person be born-again and receive the free gift of salvation in Jesus Christ proclaimed in the Gospel message.
If homosexuality is a sin then there is no way a professing Christian could support homosexuality or same-sex relationships.
Therein lies the problem.
It seems many Christians’ views on homosexuality are “evolving.” For example a well-known Christian counselor for Wheaton College recently resigned her position after revealing that she now supports homosexual relationships; a position she opposed just months before.
I Was Wrong. The 7th Video of Planned Parenthood is the Most Shocking and Graphic.
Posted on August 24, 2015 in Life by Nathan Cherry
I had mentioned in my previous posts about the undercover videos showing the barbarism of Planned Parenthood that I thought the 6th video was the most shocking. I was wrong.
The latest video is a discussion of how Planned Parenthood will alter their abortion procedure (a violation of federal law) in order to obtain a fully developed baby for the purpose of harvesting organs. The video also goes into great detail recounting when a Planned Parenthood doctor cut out the brain of a baby while it’s heart was still beating. A recent article comments on the newest video:
“Today’s video contains heartrending admissions about the absolute barbarism of Planned Parenthood’s abortion practice and baby parts sales in which fetuses are sometimes delivered intact and alive. Planned Parenthood is a criminal organization from the top down and should be immediately stripped of taxpayer funding and prosecuted for their atrocities against humanity.”
And just in case you’re unsure if what Planned Parenthood is doing violates federal law, consider this quote from the article:
“The Center for Medical Progress alleges that Planned Parenthood is likely breaking federal laws requiring that appropriate medical care and treatment be given to babies who survive abortions. State and federal law require that the same treatment be given to an infant born-alive after an abortion as to a normally delivered baby (1 U.S.C. 8, CA Health and Safety Code 123435). California law also prohibits any kind of experimentation on a fetus with a discernible heartbeat (CA Health and Safety Code 123440).”

What Will Future Generations Think When They Look Back On Us?
Posted on August 17, 2015 in Life by Nathan Cherry
In this short video the head writer for Glenn Beck’s television show, Dan Andros, says that our defining moment as a generation is here before us now. Future generations always look back and recognize a key moment that defined the previous generations. Images of Adolf Hitler, the moon landing, and JFK come to mind, and in some ways speak about the generation that witnessed those events. What will future generations think of when they remember us?
According to Andros, our defining moment is here. And this short video explains that moment in a somber, sobering way. Watch it. Share it. Think about it.

Planned Parenthood is Losing Funding After Undercover Videos Released. When Will Charges Be Filed?
Posted on August 12, 2015 in Life by Nathan Cherry
For over a month now videos have been released showing the disturbing and potentially illegal activities of Planned Parenthood. The country’s largest abortion merchant has been making money selling aborted baby body parts to biotech companies for research. Such practices are explicitly illegal in the United States but Planned Parenthood doesn’t generally concern themselves with the law.
The latest video might be the most disturbing of all.
In the latest video a Planned Parenthood (PP) Research Director can be seen and heard discussing how PP routinely harvests organs for profit. But what is most shocking is that she explains how abortion procedures are altered (a violation of federal law) to provide fully intact babies for donation as research specimens. A recent article explains exactly what this means:
Growing A Church is About Doing One Simple Thing
Posted on August 11, 2015 in Theology by Nathan Cherry
It can often be a frustrating thing to watch one church in town grow at an exponential rate while another struggles to keep its doors open. Such a curious experience leaves people wondering what the growing church has going on that makes it so attractive to people. And why don’t people find the other church as equally attractive?
Those are, I think, the wrong questions to be asking. The reason those are the wrong questions is because it isn’t our job to make the church attractive to anyone. Once we fall into the trap of trying to make church cool and culturally relevant there is a danger that the church will become soft on sin, theologically shallow, and little more than a Sunday club.
Don’t get me wrong, there is value in updating our style, utilizing modern resources such as technology, and abandoning traditions that no longer work. But these efforts should only be accomplished with a central focus on reaching people with the Gospel and making disciples. If creating a cool church or even simply church growth is our goal we’ve already lost sight of the mission of the church.
I came across an article this week discussing some specific reasons why it is harder today to grow a church than in years past. A few of the points given are accurate and reflect the struggle I’ve witnessed over the last decade. One in particular is worth noting for every church leader:
