Don’t You Want to be in Good Hands?
Posted on December 15, 2013 in Theology by Nathan Cherry
Isn’t it comforting when you know you’re in good hands? There’s a calming peace to any circumstances when you realize the person in charge is more than capable of taking care of things. Immediately we breathe a sigh of relief and feel a massive weight lifted from our shoulders. We’re in good hands.
Have you ever considered what it means to be “in good hands” when it comes to Christ? As a born again believer, a Christ follower, the idea of every detail of our lives being in the hands of Christ means we are in the “best hands” at all times. There’s never any need to worry or be concerned because the “best hands” have everything under control. And oh what hands they are.
Those are the hands that threw stars and planets into orbit and caused the universe to spin (Psa. 147:4). Those are the hands that took common, ordinary dirt and sculpted the human body in all its wonder and beauty (Gen. 1-2). These are the hands that carved out the Ten Commandments in stone (ex. 24:12) and closed the door of the ark (Gen. 7:15-16). These are the hands that held the water of the Red Sea so Israel could walk on dry land (ex. 14:21). Continue reading…
Heartbreaking: Belgium Legalizes Euthanasia for Children
Posted on December 14, 2013 in Life by Nathan Cherry
A heartbreaking story out of Europe reported that Belgium has, in a landslide vote, legalized euthanasia for children. The report states:
“In 50-17 vote today, the Belgian Senate approved a bill that would allow euthanasia for children. The bill now goes to the House of Representatives for final approval before being sent to the King to be signed into law. Most political observers are predicting the passage of the bill. Currently the law in Belgium allows euthanasia requests for those over 18 and of sound mind, although it is acknowledged that these restrictions are widely ignored. The bill allows euthanasia, with parental consent, for children experiencing intolerable physical pain and who are suffering from a terminal medical condition. Since legalization of euthanasia in 2002, Belgium has seen a nearly 500 percent increase in deaths by euthanasia. Various studies have found that patients in hospitals are increasingly being killed without their consent or the consent of their families.”
This is yet another way in which people show no respect for life. We kill unborn children in the womb, we kill the elderly, we kill adults who request it, and now we kill children.
Does anyone actually think it will stop here? How long before Belgium is killing the disabled? How long before those who are unable to “contribute to society” are terminated? The mindset of the Nazi regime is once again creeping through society. We’ve forgotten how to celebrate life in all its various forms and to see the beauty that can result from suffering. I don’t wish pain and suffering on anyone, but I wish life was celebrated.
Parents somehow finding it acceptable to kill their kids ought to be ashamed. Click here for original article.
Court: Australian Same-Sex Marriage Violates Law
Posted on December 14, 2013 in Marriage by Nathan Cherry
Previously, lower court rulings upheld a law making same-sex marriage in Australia legal. But it seems the ruling was short lived as the high court of Australia has ruled that such laws violate the Federal Marriage Law of the country, which defines marriage as the union of one man and one woman. A recent report states:
“The legalization of gay marriage has been overturned in Australia. On Wednesday the country’s high court issued the decision. A landmark ruling in November had upheld same-sex marriage in Australia. That came when the federal government challenged an Australian Territory’s law making gay marriage legal. The high court took a different view, ruling the law violates the Federal Marriage Act, which defines marriage as between a man and a woman.”
The court has not only upheld the law of the land, but has said the issue belongs in the National Parliament rather than in courts. Kudos to Australia for upholding traditional marriage. Click here for original article.
149 Abortions for Every Adoption Referral
Posted on December 13, 2013 in Life by Nathan Cherry
Planned Parenthood is an aboriton business. We must start with that in order to have an honest discussion about the organization. People that claim they “do good services” for women aren’t being honest if they don’t admit that the primary “service” of Planned Parenthood is abortion. To further show just how important abortion is to women, a recent report states that last year Planned Parenthood did 149 abortions for every adoption referral.
Further statistics show the low level of concern Planned Parenthood has for women’s health:
“PPFA reported a substantial drop in its clinic numbers between December 2012 and December 2013.
“Planned Parenthood reported a 6.7 percent decrease worldwide in customers for its ‘sexual and reproductive healthcare and education.’ In the U.S., it reported seeing 10,000 fewer unduplicated customers than in 2011.
“One of the most glaring numbers was the steep decline in prenatal services-a 31.97 percent decline from the prior year.
“In addition, Planned Parenthood’s highly touted cancer screening services dropped 14.22 percent from the 2011 numbers.”
Just so we’re clear, Planned Parenthood is an abortion business. Click here for original article.
Why Are homosexuals Afraid of This Wedding?
Posted on December 13, 2013 in Marriage by Nathan Cherry
I’m willing to bet that you know someone who is homosexual. That’s an easy wager to make considering the current landscape of our society. But I’m also willing to bet you don’t know an ex-gay person.
Considering the fact that homosexuals only comprise roughly 3.5% of the American population, the fact that most of us know someone who is gay is incredible. The six degrees of separation are quickly shrinking. However, a rapidly growing segment of the homosexual population is those who now call themselves “ex.” And yet you probably don’t know someone who identifies in this way.
The reason you probably don’t know someone who identifies as ex-homosexual is two-fold. One, they make little effort to announce to everyone they meet that they were at one time homosexual but have since left that lifestyle. Simply put, it’s not that important to them to share. And second, concerted efforts exist to repress anyone who dares claim to be an ex-homosexual.
For the homosexual community it’s a zero-sum game in which the truth has been so perverted that militant homosexual activists refuse to acknowledge the possibility that someone can “leave the homosexual lifestyle.” For this reason anyone claiming to formerly be a homosexual is harassed and ridiculed to such an extent that many refuse to talk about it.

James Dobson Sues Obama Administration
Posted on December 12, 2013 in Public Policy, Religious Freedom by Nathan Cherry
ADFMedia reports: Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday against the Obama administration on behalf of Dr. James Dobson and his “Family Talk” radio show and ministry, a Christian non-profit organization that is currently subject to Obamacare’s abortion pill mandate.
The lawsuit challenges the legality and constitutionality of the mandate, which requires religious employers to provide insurance coverage for abortifacients, sterilization, and contraception to employees regardless of religious or moral objections. Dobson and Family Talk object specifically to providing coverage for abortion drugs and devices.
“Our ministry believes in living out the religious convictions we hold to and talk about on the air,” added Dobson, Family Talk’s founder and president. “As Americans, we should all be free to live according to our faith and to honor God in our work. The Constitution protects that freedom so that the government cannot force anyone to act against his or her sincerely held religious beliefs. But the mandate ignores that and leaves us with a choice no American should have to make: comply and abandon your religious freedom, or resist and be fined for your faith.”

“Can My Transgender Girlfriend Get Me Pregnant?”
Posted on December 12, 2013 in Sexuality by Nathan Cherry
LifeSiteNews.com shared this: “Planned Parenthood has posted a response on its Tumblr account to a reader who asked, ‘Can my trans[gender] girlfriend get me pregnant?’ Someone who, understandably, wanted to remain anonymous wrote, ‘My girlfriend is trans and has been doing hormone replacement therapy for about a year. About how likely is it that she can still get me pregnant?’ Yes, a biological female apparently having heterosexual intercourse with a biological male asked if sex still causes pregnancy. A Planned Parenthood spokesperson named ‘Mylanie’ responded with the perplexing statement, ‘anytime your girlfriend’s semen…gets into your vagina or onto your vulva, you’re at risk for pregnancy.'”
How sad is it that sexuality has been so defamed and maligned that we have to answer questions like this? This young person has been so conditioned to see sexuality as just another “customizeable” aspect to a persons life that she doesn’t think it strange to be in a sexual relationship with a person so confused about his own sexuality that he is trying to become a female.
Furthermore, the girl in question is obviously having her own sexuality issues considering she is in a relationship with a biological male transitioning to a female; which makes her…homosexual?
Lastly, exactly how effective is all that explicit sex education in the public schools if this young woman doesn’t know that sex between a man and woman carries the risk of pregnancy?
Welcome to the 21st century. In this “brave new world” males try to become female, females engage in sexual relationships with trans females, and neither of them can figure out what causes pregnancy. But don’t worry, Planned Parenthood has lots of brochures to make sure they enjoy sex, have lots of condoms(?), and just in case those two crazy kids – one or both – end up pregnant help with abortions services. Ladies and gentlemen, the future of America. Click here for original article.
Homosexual Tyranny Will Destroy Religious Liberty
Posted on December 12, 2013 in Religious Freedom by Nathan Cherry
Writing at LifeSiteNews.com, Steve Jalsevac has penned what I would call a wake-up call to people regarding the “growing…very real tyranny” of activist homosexuals in America. In particular he centers on how homosexuals are already influencing the Catholic Church while seemingly ignorant or indifferent leaders do nothing.
Jalsevac wonders out loud where Catholic leaders were when Christian business owners were being persecuted through prosecution for simply adhering to a biblical definition of sexuality and marriage. He laments, “All I can recall, from the Catholics and Anglicans at least, was the usual, deadly, shameful soul and spirit killing silence that seems to happen all over the developed world on this issue.”
While Jalsevac directs his concern toward the Catholic Church, and rightly so, I would direct concern to every church in the United States that continues to confess the biblical definition of sexuality and marriage. As recent headlines have proven, the environment is right and activists are poised to seek not just recognition but full acceptance for their lifestyle from society; including the church.
Just days ago a Colorado judge ordered a Christian baker to bake cakes for gay couples even though doing so is a clear violation of his religious freedom and convictions. If a judge feels so emboldened as to demand one Christian violates his religious convictions are we so sure that other judges will not order churches to violate their collective convictions? UPDATE: EU Decides Abortion in NOT a Human Right!
Posted on December 11, 2013 in Life, Public Policy by Nathan Cherry
Update: “For the second time in two months, the European Parliament rejected a report that recommended that EU nations declare abortion to be a human right and to make abortion available within all public health systems of member countries. Adoption of the report would have placed more pressure on pro-life nations like Ireland, Poland and Malta to legalize abortion on demand.” Click here for original article.
The European Parliament will vote Tuesday on a report, known as the Estrela Report, which will decide whether or not abortion is a “human right.” This is important first because it is absurd to think that abortion is a human right. This is important secondly because this vote will no doubt have consequences for America.
As Americans continue to recognize that life should be defended from conception to natural death, the abortion industry grows desperate. Clinics are closing at unprecedented rates, pro-life laws are being passed by states like never before, and most Americans now identify as pro-life than in the last 40 years. This spells trouble for the money making machine of the abortion industry.
A vote, such as the one taking place tomorrow, will have a ripple effect on the United States. Should the European Parliament find a “human right” to abortion, we can be sure the most pro-abortion president in U.S. history and his administration will seek to further push their pro-abortion agenda on us. However, if the vote defends life, we can expect an increased surge in the protection of life here in the states.
In case you are not familiar with the Estrela report, and why it is dangerous, a recent article explains what the report contains:
- says that abortion is a human rights concern, uses the myth of backstreet abortion to claim moral high ground yet no national or International law states abortion is a human right (section 33)
- gives free reign to abortionists, calls for the non-prosecution of abortion (section 36) Continue reading…
Government Demands Christians Violate Religious Convictions
Posted on December 11, 2013 in Public Policy, Religious Freedom by Nathan Cherry
In what can only be described as an appalling verdict, a federal judge has ordered a Colorado baker to violate his Christian convictions and serve cakes to homosexual couples.
Jack Phillips is the owner of Masterpiece Cake shop in Colorado. Last year a gay couple asked him to prepare a cake for them so they could celebrate their recent “marriage” in Massachusetts. Jack told the couple he could not serve them because doing so would violate his religious convictions. The couple, with the help of the ACLU, filed a discrimination lawsuit against Jack.
Now, a judge has told Jack that he must serve homosexuals or his business will face penalties.
This case is similar to the one from New Mexico where Elane Photography was sued for discrimination after Christian owner Elaine Huguenin said she could photograph a same-sex ceremony because it would violate her religious convictions. Huguenin and her company were charged with discrimination and the New Mexico Supreme Court upheld the conviction and fine. The case is now headed to the Supreme Court. Continue reading…
