Did You Know the Planned Parenthood Shooter was a Pro-Life, Christian, Conservative, Republican?
Posted on December 1, 2015 in Life by Nathan Cherry
Last week a man committed a terrible act of violence at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, CO. Depending on what article you read about this incident the picture you will get of the gunman, Robert Dear, will be very different. In fact, as more details emerge about this man and his crime(s), the entire story becomes very troubling.
Abortion activists are painting Mr. Dear as a pro-life activist and calling his crime an act of “domestic terrorism.” They are using the tragic events as an opportunity to paint pro-life activists as extremists that condone violence (a twisted sort of irony).
Gun control advocates are using the incident as an opportunity to call for stricter gun laws. They see Mr. Dear as the typical American gun owner and want to make it more difficult to own a gun.
Some even decided to be very specific with their blame by saying the shooting was the fault of “Christian, white, conservative, Republicans.” These accusations were made while the shooting was still going on and before the suspect was in custody? Either the media coverage was extremely biased and those reporters should be ashamed of themselves; or someone is trying to create an artificial picture of specific groups for a political agenda.
When Planned Parenthood Talks About “Donating Tissue” This Is What They Mean
Posted on November 23, 2015 in Life by Nathan Cherry
Planned Parenthood has used this smoke and mirrors tactic for many years, but recently, thanks to the efforts of groups like the Center for Medical Progress and Live Action, the shiny exterior Planned Parenthood has tirelessly defended is now terribly tarnished. In fact, if it were not for their partnership with the most pro-abortion president in American history, I have no doubt Planned Parenthood would be nearly non-existent. They are sustained primarily by our tax dollars, secured by President Obama and defended by his administration.
Now that the smoke is dissipating, Planned Parenthood is working night and day to preserve their reputation. This can be seen in their decision to “stop selling baby body parts.” While they continue to claim that they’ve done nothing wrong, and are within the boundaries of the law, they suddenly decided to release a statement about their decision. An article carries Cecile Richards’ statement:
Church Silence on Critical Moral Issues is Aiding Sin and Perverting the Gospel
Posted on November 4, 2015 in Public Policy, Religious Freedom by Nathan Cherry
I have long been an interested party in how the Gospel propels us into social involvement. The idea that as Christians we can stick our head in the sand and pretend everything is okay in our society seems both unbiblical and counter-intuitive to what Scripture teaches. That we should be active in helping “the least of these” and doing everything in our power to champion them seems obvious given the Bible’s teaching (see the book of James).
What I have come to realize is that many churches, pastors, and Christians are the least active, least involved (seemingly the least concerned) about matters that have come to be known as “social justice” issues. Whether this is due to such issues becoming highly politicized, or whether it is a result of poor theology is unclear. What is clear is that far too many Christians have little concern for anything that faintly smells political.
Please don’t misunderstand me. I’m not suggesting we all quit our jobs and run for political office. That calling must be clear as the person called to run for office will need every ounce of grace and strength God will grant. But as Christians we cannot sit on the sidelines and bemoan the state of our culture and society (politically or morally) while we do absolutely nothing. No one like a backseat driver or am armchair quarterback.
So while a few churches have taken any interest in the world outside their Bible-insulated walls, most have stayed content to meet each week to condemn society, gossip about sinful neighbors, and remain idle. This is lamentable at best. And I wish more churches would connect the Gospel to local and global action that reaches beyond week long mission trips. In fact, I firmly believe that if most churches became involved in “campaigning” for change in their communities we would see our society changed into something more in line with our theology.
But, to be honest, I am not optimistic or hopeful that this will happen.
People Claim Jesus Was “Inclusive.” Did Jesus Really Accept Sin?
Posted on October 27, 2015 in Public Policy, Sexuality, Theology by Nathan Cherry
Lately, much has been made of the word “inclusive.” We want to make sure no one is excluded, unwelcome, or alienated. We want to be one big happy family that gets along all the time. And in order to do that, we are hell-bent on accepting people – and their views – just as they are.
So dedicated are we to this idea of universal inclusion that we stand ready to revise centuries of tradition, values, and faith in order to ensure everyone has a seat at the table. For Christians the struggle to rightly live our faith each and every day according to the transcendent truth of Scripture has never been more difficult.
How do we “love your neighbor as yourself” in a culture that says unless you celebrate and advocate for my sin you are a discriminatory bigot? That might be the question of the century for every Christian. And some Christians have decided the only way to “love your neighbor” is to joyfully accept, celebrate, and endorse his sin. So whether that sin is homosexuality, co-habitation, gambling, or any other form of sin – they cheer.
LIARS: Planned Parenthood Finally Admits They Don’t Do Mammograms
Posted on October 6, 2015 in Life by Nathan Cherry
In my estimation Planned Parenthood is one of our nation’s most corrupt, criminal organizations. One could hardly find a redeeming quality about the abortion business worth mentioning. Despite efforts to sell Americans a polished image as a woman’s health organization, Planned Parenthood has watched helplessly as videos exposing it’s true nature as a house of death have revealed an image more akin to founder Margaret Sanger’s intent: a highly developed killing machine.
If You Think Bill Nye is a “Science Guy” You Should Watch This Video
Posted on October 5, 2015 in Life by Nathan Cherry
The “science guy” Bill Nye has become a sort of poster-boy for the abortion movement. With one breath they tell men to keep out of it with respect to opposing abortion or making laws against abortion. But in the very next breath they fawn all over Nye as he trumps their bloody movement. Talk about hypocrisy. Nye recently posted a video that is causing waves. For abortion supporters the waves are cheerful and supportive. For pro-life advocates the waves are groans and sighs as Nye – who is supposed to be a “science guy” – completely botches the science of human reproduction. In fact, Nye sounds so un-scientific that it’s hard to listen to his ramblings or give him credit. Here’s some of the highlights from this amazingly terrible video:
“Many, many, many, many more hundreds of eggs are fertilized than become humans.”
“And so when it comes to women’s rights with respect to their reproduction, I think you should leave it to women.”
“I’m not the first guy to observe this: You have a lot of men of European descent passing this extraordinary laws based on ignorance. Sorry you guys.”
If you think that’s bad, try watching the rest. And just to make that easier, I’ve posted the video below for you. If the video doesn’t appear automatically, please refresh your browser.
The Governmental Persecution of the Church Has Begun
Posted on September 29, 2015 in Public Policy, Religious Freedom by Nathan Cherry
If I were to ask you whether churches would ever lose their tax-exempt status (or be sued) for refusing to support homosexuality, what would you say?
Can you imagine a time in our nation when a church would be forced, under penalty of law, to accept something that it believes is sin? That is the question many people are currently wondering. In light of the earlier Supreme Court ruling in the Obergfell case, political analysts are speculating that it is just a matter of time before churches are in one way or another forced to support homosexuality and same-sex “marriage.”
In particular, commentator Bill O’Reilly said he thinks it’s “just a matter of time” before churches are sued for refusing to perform same-sex weddings. In a video after the Supreme Court decision he said:
“It’s just a matter of time before lawsuits are filed against churches and religious organizations, trying to strip them of their tax-exempt status if they don’t toe the line on gay marriage and other progressive causes.”
Let’s be honest here, it has always been religious people that have stood in the way of liberal causes. When you think of the primary opposition to abortion, homosexuality, and other liberal social ideas, it is Christians and those with deeply held religious convictions that stand opposed. For this reason people of faith are a target, an obstacle to be removed in order to achieve some liberal idea of a utopian society.
Are Christians Hypocrites for Demanding Service While Refusing to Serve Others?
Posted on September 22, 2015 in Life by Nathan Cherry
Once again I find myself struggling to determine what is acceptable as I read a recent headline causing a stir. It seems the lines between “rights” and “discrimination” have become so blurred that it’s hard to decipher anything clearly.
The story making headlines is that of an Office Depot store in Illinois that refused to print the pro-life flyer a woman brought in because, they said, the language used was graphic and offensive.
The flyer in question is one being used to call for prayer for Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion business. The flyer shares details from Planned Parenthood’s most recent annual report, includes information about their harvesting body parts, and includes a prayer for the conversion of Planned Parenthood. While I can certainly understand someone not agreeing with the content of the flyer, there is nothing that I can see which would cause anyone to describe this flyer as “graphic” or “offensive.” (Click here to see the flyer.)
Of course many media outlets, organizations, and corporations have supported Planned Parenthood over the years. They have covered up atrocities committed by the abortion giant, refused to report on shocking cases of abuse, rape, sex-trafficking, and abortion related death, and donated money. So maybe Office Depot is simply protecting a friend, an asset.
Planned Parenthood Says Only 3% of Their Services is Abortion. This Infographic Proves That’s A Lie!
Posted on September 7, 2015 in Life by Nathan Cherry
The infographic below details the fact that despite claims from Planned Parenthood that abortion makes up only 3% of their services, the reality is far more gruesome. What makes the PP claim so curious is that they constantly trumpet abortion as a “woman’s right,” something to be celebrated. if that’s the case, why lie about how many abortions they do? Why hide the fact that 30% of their services are abortions? It makes me wonder if there is something more they are hiding. Take a look at the info-graphic to see just how many abortions Planned Parenthood performs and how much money they are profiting from it.
5th Planned Parenthood Undercover Video Might Be Most Disturbing Of All
Posted on August 10, 2015 in Life by Nathan Cherry
Once again Planned Parenthood has been caught bragging about their ability to sell aborted baby body parts for profit. This time, and perhaps most disturbingly, they are discussing their ability to provide fully intact aborted babies to be used as research specimens. If this doesn’t turn your stomach and anger you it’s time to check your pulse. A recent article comments on the video:
“The fifth undercover video in the controversy over Planned Parenthood’s sale of aborted baby parts shows the Director of Research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, Melissa Farrell, advertising the Texas Planned Parenthood branch’s track record of fetal tissue sales, including its ability to deliver fully intact aborted babies.”
Planned Parenthood, “helping women” since founder Margaret Sanger first explained what a good idea it was to kill unborn children.
