Is this really a problem? Is there something wrong with being one thing while claiming to be another? Should we be concerned with someone that lives as another ethnicity instead of their own?

Should a Woman Be Allowed to Kill a Living, Breathing Baby Already Born?

Posted on April 11, 2017 in Life by

For some people, the abortion issue is complicated. There’s the line, some extensions of the line, the grey areas, and the loopholes. Very few people, despite what you might hear from the media, support abortion on demand through an entire pregnancy. Far more people support abortion restrictions as a pregnancy progresses later in the term.

For a larger percentage of the population abortion is filled with what-ifs and lines to be crossed. Someone might claim to be pro-life but support abortion in the case of rape. That’s not a pro-life position. That’s supporting abortion. If abortion is morally wrong, and it is, then it’s always wrong. The circumstances for the conception of a child don’t change the reality that killing a living human being is wrong. Supporting abortion the case of rape then, is also wrong.

New study Says There’s No Evidence People Are Born in the Wrong Body

The fact that we have to even have a discussion about kids, many of them elementary aged kids, is heart breaking. Those that believe they were born in the wrong body and want to live as the opposite gender are confused, disturbed individuals in need of loving, compassionate help. They do not need encouragement. When it’s an adult in this situation, making such decisions, it’s one thing. When it is a child being encouraged into hormone treatments in order to support their confused decisions, it’s another thing entirely.

Recently, the American College of Pediatricians released a study on “Gender Dysphoria in Children.” The study has some important scientific conclusions regarding kids and transgenderism that need to be read by everyone. This is an important issue because it directly affects children. Adults are, in many ways, complicit in their decision to be transgender. Kids often don’t have the mental and emotional maturity to know what is happening and make the right decision. If the people they trust, parents, schoolteachers, encourage them to make a confused decision; it could impact the rest of their life.

One of the Earliest Transcripts of the Historical Christmas Story (Video)

Posted on December 25, 2014 in Theology by

If you’ve ever wondered what Christmas is all about. What the purpose of Christmas is. The “transcript” below of the first Christmas shares the inherent meaning that in inseparable from any Christmas celebration. Without the birth of Jesus Christ 2000 years ago there would be no Christmas. But because God came tow earth as a baby in order to die for the sins of mankind, we can celebrate. Not only can we celebrate today, but for those who have placed their faith in the saving, atoning work of Jesus Christ on the cross, we can celebrate every day.

The following passage, and video, share the events of the first Christmas. I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and honor the true meaning of this joyous day.

Luke 2:4-14 (ESV) – 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,
5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child.
6 And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth.
7 And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.
8 And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear.
10 And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

Viral Video: Home Free Singing Their Version of a Christmas Classic

Posted on December 19, 2014 in Theology by

When rising a capella group Home Free wanted to record a video for their stirring rendition of “Angels We Have Heard on High,” they chose a church to do it. Considering the content of the song it seems a fitting backdrop. But the church takes second place to the group’s incredible vocal version of this beloved Christmas classic.

It won’t take long before the listener will understand why this video has gone mega viral in just a few shorts weeks (the video had over a million hits just two weeks after Thanksgiving). The five man group blends melodies and harmonies in what can only be described as a symphony of vocal music to create a beautiful rendition of this Christmas carol that is worth every second it takes to listen.

Songs like this are deeply embedded into our celebration of the Christmas holiday. They tell the story of what Christmas is truly all about. “Angels We Have Heard on High” tells about the angels that appeared in the skies to sing and announce the birth of Christ to the shepherds (Luke 2:8-14), and the shepherds going to see Jesus in the manger (Luke 2:15-20). It also tells of the little baby born to take away the sin of the world (John 1:29). The song makes this clear in the last verse: “See Him in a manger laid, Jesus Lord of heaven and earth; Mary, Joseph, lend your aid, With us sing our Savior’s birth.”

We love these Christmas songs because in the chaos that can be Christmas they remind us of the true meaning of the season and why we can even celebrate. We are remembering the day Jesus was born as a baby for the purpose of dying on the cross for our sins. These songs ground us in the truth of what Christmas is supposed to be, a celebration of Jesus. And this video by Home Free is just another version of the song that will be enjoyed for generations to come and serve that purpose. Take a few moments to listen, it will be a highlight of your day.

Are Christians Abandoning the Biblical Position on Homosexuality?

Posted on June 26, 2014 in Sexuality, Theology by

A recent Gallup Poll found that 37% of people believe homosexuality is a product of environment, while 42% say people are “born gay.” Despite the absolute lack of evidence for a “gay gene” or any biological marker for homosexuality, the notion still persists that people are somehow born with homosexual tendencies. This also despite the growing mountain of evidence to showing environmental factors contribute to a person’s self-image and identity, which plays a major factor in sexual orientation.

While the number of people believing people are born gay is down from 2013 when it reached an all-time high, the trend of believing there is a genetic marker that forces people to be gay is still hanging around.

Some are citing this as proof that Christians will eventually “come around” and “get with the program” on the issue of homosexuality and accept it. Some are even saying that opposition to homosexuality on the part of Christians is “collapsing” and will eventually crumble.

Really?

Historian Says No One is Born Gay or Straight – Society Does That

Posted on April 8, 2014 in Sexuality by

There is no such thing as a “gay gene” and no one is “born that way.”

Oh, by the way, no one is born heterosexual either.

In fact, being heterosexual or homosexual is nothing but a social construct developed in the 19th century in response to the pathologization of homosexual experiences by doctors.

That is the essence of a recent article by David Benkof at The Daily Caller in which he explains that LGBT historians are fighting the idea that anyone is born gay. Benkof’s purpose for the article is difficult to determine as he at times seems to call into question the idea that homosexuals don’t choose their sexuality due to a “gay gene.” But then he immediately asserts that sexuality in general is in part biological and mainly a social construct developed only in the last 150 years.

The following paragraph will give an idea of how difficult to follow this article is:

Viral Video: Baby Celebrates 1 Year Birthday After Being Born Months Premature

Posted on November 26, 2013 in Life by

The video below is incredible for a number of reasons. First, it shows the first year of a little boy born 3 1/2 months premature. After spending many days and nights in the NICU the boy went home and finally celebrated his first birthday. The video tribute to his first year is nothing short of amazing.

This video is also incredible for the context it presents. This boy was born at 5 1/2 months gestation. According to abortion rights groups, Planned Parenthood, and President Obama, this child was not actually a child at this time. Whatever he was, he was not a human being worthy of protections from the torture of abortion. This is why these groups and our president have repeatedly fought to make it legal to kill children at this point in pregnancy.

As well, in our home state of West Virginia it is currently legal to kill an unborn child up to the moment of birth. So this child, obviously human, obviously alive, could have easily been killed by his mother is she would have chosen to do so. Why doesn’t West Virginia believe it is important to protect living human beings like this little boy? Why do our lawmakers continue to claim to be pro-life while they do nothing to protect the unborn?
