Should Christians Take Part in the Target Boycott?

Part of the sub-debate surrounding the Target bathroom issue is whether or not Christians should join the boycott. The question is whether or not boycotting a local business is the right way to “show Christ” to a lost world.
Christians are having an intra-faith debate on social media about whether or not it’s right and appropriate to boycott a business for the cultural position it takes. In one sense it is an interesting discussion as intelligent conversations discuss the pros and cons of boycotting. On the other hand it’s frustrating and tiring as angry accusations and sinful threats are hurled across social media platforms. You know, the old “if you don’t…un-friend me now.”
Nothing to See Here. Just a Conflict of Interest Paid for by Planned Parenthood

This is almost too egregious to believe. And yet the headlines are no joke and make it very clear that Planned Parenthood and their bought-off political allies will stop at nothing to advance their pro-death movement.
David Daleiden, the man that released the undercover videos exposing the sale of aborted baby body parts by Planned Parenthood had his home raided by politicians in California. The California Attorney General, Kamala Harris, ordered the raid on Daleiden’s home. Besides the obvious violation of Daleiden’s First Amendment rights, this is a particularly horrendous crime due to the fact that the people raiding his home have been paid by Planned Parenthood. There’s a verse in the Bible I’m learning to understand more as our culture moves toward complete rebellion of God’s principles. That verse simply states, “you cannot serve God and money.” (Matt. 6:24 ff)
Now, some would say this means you can’t be rich and serve God, but that’s a false conclusion. One look into Scripture reveals many people that were indeed rich and were used of God; King Solomon is just one example. Nope, that verse is teaching that your priorities cannot be both the pursuit of money and the pursuit of God and serving God.
Our society has become driven by money: the pursuit of money, the protection of money, and the acquisition of more money. And when money is threatened it is not a surprise to see people make decisions in favor of money rather than in favor of serving God.
VIDEO: Planned Parenthood Breaks Federal Law – No One Cares

The Center for Medical Progress (CMP) has released a 12th undercover video showing that Planned Parenthood actively changes the abortion procedure to harvest fully intact “specimens” to sell.
The latest video features Jennefer Russo, medical director at Planned Parenthood in Orange County, California, telling undercover investigators how her clinic seeks to harvest fully intact babies in order to sell the bodies to a bioscience company. In case you didn’t know, knowingly altering the abortion procedure is a federal crime. Selling fetal body parts for profit is also a federal crime. The undercover videos released by CMP have proven definitively that Planned Parenthood has daily broken both of those federal laws.
You might be wondering why Planned Parenthood has not faced any criminal charges. Why hasn’t anyone been arrested? The truth is that Planned Parenthood is protected by the most pro-abortion president in United States history. President Obama has repeatedly “blessed” Planned Parenthood for their work and given billions of dollars in tax-money to the abortion business despite objections from Americans. (Hillary Clinton is a big fan of Planned Parenthood as well.)

A newly released video by The Center for Medical Progress (CMP) reveals the deceitful accounting tactics used by Planned Parenthood to profit in the sale of aborted baby body parts. The video (posted below) shares a conversation between CMP investigative journalist David Daleiden and a Planned Parenthood Director of Research Melissa Farrell.
The accounting gimmick used involves using dual invoices and subtle phrasing in order to charge extremely high prices for “specimens” that cost Planned Parenthood virtually nothing. This means Planned Parenthood was making a great deal of profit on each “specimen” it sold; a practice that is blatantly illegal. A recent article shares some detail:
“Daleiden says the system of accounting gimmicks and dual invoicing for “consent” payments in place of fetal specimens that Melissa Farrell describes in the video bears a striking resemblance to invoices submitted by Farrell on behalf of PPGC to the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2010 and 2011. In these documents, obtained through a Public Information Act request, two PPGC invoices for the exact same billing period charge $25 per “Consents obtained,” with a total quantity of 32, and in the same time period charges $150 per “Consent payment” for a smaller quantity of 25. This is consistent with a scheme where Planned Parenthood charged $25 to consent abortion patients to supply fetal tissue, and then charged another $150 for each usable fetal specimen that UTMB could procure.”
How Would 1.5 BILLION Dollars Change Your Life? It Might Ruin It!

I can’t help but wonder how many of my Christian friends have decided to “just buy one” in hopes of winning. No doubt it is with the promise that they will tithe and feed a small nation that they justify their purchase of what they hope will be a life-changing ticket. (Cue “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket” from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).
While we dream of how large sums of money would change our life we need to come face to face with the reality that at times our dreams are full of envy and idolatry; and we lack faith and thankfulness. This is easily seen in the definition of “large sums of money” from one country to the next. As people cross our borders in hopes of making $30,000 a year working I am reminded that there is a family living in a tent in Haiti.
I was further convicted of my own selfish greed by John Piper’s blog post entitled “7 Reasons Not to Play the Lottery.”
Piper, speaking to both Christians and people in general (which is presumably why he did not title his post “7 Reasons Christians Should Not Play the Lottery”), lays out a case for being wise stewards of all that we’ve been given. More than that he argues that the lottery is enabling poverty and keeping people from growing out of poverty. Some of his reasons include:
New Videos Reveal Depth of Planned Parenthood Wickedness – All for Money

The damage Planned Parenthood (PP) has suffered as a result of the undercover videos being released showing how their organization harvests and sells aborted baby body parts for profit has been massive.
To date, several large corporate sponsors have ended their contributions to the abortion giant. More than a dozen governors in various states have ordered investigations into the PP operations in their state. And a bill to defund PP from all public funding has been fast tracked in Congress. All in all, it’s been a rough few weeks for Planned Parenthood.
I, for one, couldn’t be happier.
Planned Parenthood is a vile, criminal organization that has preyed on minority women for years. Founded by Margaret Sanger, a woman that encouraged eugenics, and was known for her racist leanings, PP has done nothing to help society since it was founded. Go ahead, google Margaret Sanger, read some of the things she wrote. If our society is going to flip out over the confederate flag then surely we have to close PP as a result of their racist history. Right?

But one area of life that is routinely overlooked is in the area of retirement and investment saving. This area of spending is rarely given any consideration and many of these “faith driven consumers” would be surprised at the unbiblical values being supported by their retirement and investment money.
Investment products like IRA’s, Bonds, and Mutual Funds are often stock-market based. Investors use an individual’s money to invest into a certain company with the hope of seeing a return. This is how many organizations and companies make money – by spending other people’s money. And this is how the investor makes money – by earning interest and dividends. But what you may not know is that the organizations and companies your financial advisor is investing your money into could very well be actively opposing your religious convictions.

President Obama supports a woman’s choice.
Unless that choice is to be a stay-at-home mom, then he doesn’t want you to make that choice. He would rather you choose your job and earn more money than to stay home with your children.
