Pastor Appreciation Month! Do We Really Need It?
Posted on October 17, 2014 in Theology by Nathan Cherry
You may not have known that October is “Pastor Appreciation Month,” but that’s only because it wasn’t in the church bulletin or on the website. Even if it was announced from the pulpit last week in the service I am guessing you forgot by the time you walked out the door. Hey, no biggie.
All joking aside, this month is an opportunity to show your pastor that you truly appreciate him, his ministry, and his family. We have days to show our appreciation to teachers, public workers, and administrative professionals so I heartily endorse a month to show our spiritual shepherds that we appreciate their life of ministry.
You might be wondering why we need such a day.
Graph: Planned Parenthood Does 30% of All Abortions in the United States

Jill Stanek, reporting at LifeSiteNews.com, shares the following sickening statistics from recent reports regarding abortions in the United States and Planned Parenthood. If you think Planned Parenthood is about women’s health and all the rosy rhetoric they like to repeat, read this and think again.
American Life League’s STOPP reported in February:
Here are some comparative numbers based on theGuttmacher report entitled “Abortion Incidence and Service Availability in the United States, 2011,” and Planned Parenthood’s annual reports, showing Planned Parenthood’s ever-increasing share of the U.S. abortion market:
Planned Parenthood committed 31.6% of abortions nationwide in 2011
Planned Parenthood committed 23.3% of abortions nationwide in 2006
Planned Parenthood committed 16.5% of abortions nationwide in 2001
Planned Parenthood committed 11.3% of abortions nationwide in 1996
Planned Parenthood committed 8.5% of abortions nationwide in 1991
Planned Parenthood committed 6.2% of abortions nationwide in 1986
The graph below shows that Planned Parenthood abortions continue to soar, even as national abortion rates have declined and leveled off.
Can Christians Handle the “Tough Truths” Taught in the Bible?
Posted on December 18, 2013 in Sexuality by Nathan Cherry
Though the bishop’s statement is directed toward Catholics it could easily be aimed at people of every denomination. As culture swerves away from anything traditional or moral, doubt has crept into the minds and hearts of those who claim the name of Christ. It almost seems to be that same doubt used by Satan in the Garden of Eden to deceive Adam and Eve and cause them to sin. Satan caused Eve to doubt God’s words, and then to add to God’s words, and ultimately to ignore God’s words and do what she wanted.
The same pattern is taking place in our society today and yet it is a tactic as old as time itself. Christians are sitting in churches week after week skeptical of the words being taught. They wonder inwardly if the preacher knows what he is talking about and if that’s the “original meaning” of the text.
149 Abortions for Every Adoption Referral
Posted on December 13, 2013 in Life by Nathan Cherry
Planned Parenthood is an aboriton business. We must start with that in order to have an honest discussion about the organization. People that claim they “do good services” for women aren’t being honest if they don’t admit that the primary “service” of Planned Parenthood is abortion. To further show just how important abortion is to women, a recent report states that last year Planned Parenthood did 149 abortions for every adoption referral.
Further statistics show the low level of concern Planned Parenthood has for women’s health:
“PPFA reported a substantial drop in its clinic numbers between December 2012 and December 2013.
“Planned Parenthood reported a 6.7 percent decrease worldwide in customers for its ‘sexual and reproductive healthcare and education.’ In the U.S., it reported seeing 10,000 fewer unduplicated customers than in 2011.
“One of the most glaring numbers was the steep decline in prenatal services-a 31.97 percent decline from the prior year.
“In addition, Planned Parenthood’s highly touted cancer screening services dropped 14.22 percent from the 2011 numbers.”
Just so we’re clear, Planned Parenthood is an abortion business. Click here for original article.
