VIDEO: Mom Destroys Common Core in 3 Minutes

I’ve had a lot of conversations about Common Core lately. Unfortunately many parents don’t know how dangerous this once-size-fits-all attempt at education really is. Not onyl does Common Core dumb down America’s academic standards, it removes parents are the primary educator of children and replaces them with government. And don’t get me started on the complete lack of morals hidden in Common Core.
If you don’t know much about Common Core I encourage you to do some home work. Most states have implemented it, but many are now backing out because they see how absurdly awful it truly is.
Watch the video below of a mother in Arkansas that went to her school board and absolutely destroyed Common Core with one single math problem in less than three minutes. If this math problem from Common Core doesn’t give you an idea of how inadequate these “standards” really are, it might be time to head back to school.

WV Attorney General Tells Legislature Abortion is Permitted Up to Birth in the State

While answering questions before the legislature last week, West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey reiterated that West Virginia currently allows abortion for any reason up to the moment of birth. Controversy erupted last summer when Morrisey, in response to a lawsuit filed against the largest abortion clinic in the state, announced that his office would conduct an investigation into current abortion laws in the state.
The results of that investigation is that Morrisey has concluded that West Virginia does indeed allow abortions for any reason up to the moment of birth. In other words, West Virginia currently does not regulate the abortion industry operating within its borders. In fact, tattoo studios and hair salons are subject to more regulation than abortion clinics.

ObamaCare HHS Mandate Destroyed in Court

The Obama administration continues to trump its HHS mandate which forces all people and employers to provide and help pay for abortion inducing drugs and services. They might be the only ones however. Based on the 2013 court cases, the administration is getting walloped and the HHS mandate is suffering setbacks and defeats one right after the other. A recent report by Alliance Defending Freedom breaks it all down:
“2013 proved to be a bad year for the Obama administration’s abortion pill mandate, which finished the year with 88 percent of court decisions going against it (53-7). Alliance Defending Freedom and its allied attorneys are currently winning their cases by a wide margin, with court orders going 15-1 against the mandate. Courts issued a flurry of orders against the mandate even in the waning days of the year, including orders in Alliance Defending Freedom cases filed on behalf of non-profit Christian colleges and universities in California, Indiana, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania. The score in favor of non-profit religious entities is 18-1; the score in favor of families doing business is 35-6.”
It seems Americans and courts are not nearly as excited about the HHS mandate as the Obama administration is. At some point common sense would dictate that the mandate be scrapped and replaced with something more acceptable to a majority of Americans. If not, the Obama administration will continue to lose in courts and look foolish to the American public.

As 2013 comes to a close it serves us well to look back and see what we can learn from the past year in an effort to make 2014 better. No doubt many will spend some time thinking about “new years resolutions” and work hard to become better husbands, mothers, workers, or even mentally and physically fit. But as we gaze back on 2013 anxious for the upcoming year, let’s take a moment to determine whether our country is better now than it was when 2013 began.
The most logical place to start is with the president. Since he is the president, the commander-in-chief, the buck stops with him. So how did President Obama make America better in 2013?

2013 has been an interesting year, to say the least. It’s been called the worst year for President Obama, the worst year for Christians worldwide, and many other things. As I’ve watched stories on everything from guns to foreign relations, and religious freedom to racism, 2013 seems filled with controversy.
Now that 2013 is drawing to a close, a look back at some of the more memorable statements made this year seems appropriate. If you’ve not been paying attention to much of what has been taking place in our world, allow this list to serve a crash course. For others it will be a reminder of what has been. And still for others it will be the hope for a better 2014.

Victory for SBC and Christians Against ObamaCare

AP: “A federal judge granted an injunction Friday that prohibits the government from enforcing the federal health care law’s requirement that insurance coverage include access to the morning-after pill and similar contraceptives on almost 200 religious organizations that have filed a class-action lawsuit to block the mandate. The preliminary injunction issued by U.S. District Judge Timothy DeGiusti will prevent the government from enforcing the mandate as the religious groups’ lawsuit makes its way through the legal system. The lawsuit was filed in October on behalf of 187 ministries that provide their employees with health benefits through GuideStone Financial Resources, the health benefits arm of the Southern Baptist Convention.”
This is fantastic news for Southern Baptist ministries and every one that believes it is wrong for the government to force people to violate their faith. This decision – like the Hobby Lobby case and nearly every case against the HHS mandate – has decimated ObamaCare in the courts. Even the Obama administration is now seeking to alleviate penalties, change laws, and accommodate citizens after the pummeling in the courts.
For Southern Baptists and people of faith, this is another victory in the fight to defend religious freedom from government intrusion. I hope verdicts like this continue to roll out of the courts until Obama and his administration finally admit what every other American knows: it’s a bad law that needs repealed. Dangerous: PA Bill Would Force Christian Schools to Employ Homosexuals

A proposed bill in Pennsylvania would make it illegal to fire a person for violating the doctrinal beliefs of Christian or Catholic schools and other religious employers. A report discusses the case of a Catholic school where:
“Headmaster and school President Father James McCloskey noted that Griffin’s contract ‘requires all faculty and staff to follow the teachings of the Church as a condition of their employment.’ The Catholic Church teaches that homosexual acts, as all sexual acts outside marriage, are immoral, and homosexual activity is ‘intrinsically disordered.’ Marriage is the lifelong and unbreakable union of one man and one woman. Fr. McCloskey says that when he confronted the teacher, Griffin ‘acknowledged that he was aware of this provision’ of his contract, ‘yet he said that he intended to go ahead with the ceremony.’ The school said it let Griffin go ‘with regret.'”
In other words, a Catholic school fired a teacher because he violated his contract which stated that he would abide by all Catholic doctrine. The teacher violated this contract by entering into a homosexual marriage and was therefore fired in accordance with his contract.
The proposed bill would make it illegal to fire someone based on these circumstances. This means Christian and Catholic schools, along with other religious employers, would not be able to fire someone for refusing to adhere to church doctrine. Not only is this dangerous for these schools, but it is not hard to imagine that churches will be next. This truly is an assault on religious freedom. Click here for original article.
If Your State Did NOT Vote for Obama Insurance Rates Are Higher

A recent article explains: “If you live in a state that did not vote for Barack Obama for president, chances are your rates are going up more than if you reside in one that did vote for him. According to pricing analysis by the Heritage Foundation, premiums for 27-year-olds rose an average of 78 percent on Obamacare exchanges in Republican states. But premiums for those same young adults in states that voted Democrat rose by only 50 percent.”
Experts say this could be due to the fact that lightly regulated states – red states – will now be under heavy regulation, causing prices to rise more than already regulated states. But however you look at it, the fact is, prices are rising, coverage is shrinking, and no, you can’t keep your plan or your doctor. And if you oppose abortion you will still have to pay for it unless your state blocks that part of Obamacare.
For those of us in West Virginia, our state makes us pay for abortion with our taxes through medicare and will do the same through ObamaCare. While most of our elected officials claim to be pro-life they continue to force us to support the abortion industry in our state. Click here for original article.
