Live Action: Undercover Video Shows Planned Parenthood Telling Teens to Have Kinky Sex

Posted on June 23, 2014 in Sexuality by

plannedparenthoodexposeWarning: The videos posted below contain graphic content not suitable for kids.

We live in a society that is hesitant to call anything evil. After all, we don’t want to offend anyone with our personal opinions and views. But the reality is that Planned Parenthood is an evil organization that is doing incredible harm to women, children, and students. You may not like hearing that, but after reading this article and watching these videos you might change your mind.

Recently Live Action, headed by pro-life champion Lila Rose, released an undercover video showing a Planned Parenthood staffer advising a 15-year-old girl about how to have kinky, BDSM, sex. Not only did the staffer share graphic content too pornographic to actually air, but she advised the 15-year-old girl to go to a porn website for ideas.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe decency laws require persons visiting porn websites to be at least 18 years of age. Why is this staffer telling a 15-year-old to watch porn online? Why is this staffer teaching a minor child about kinky, BDSM sex?

Even more angering is the fact that all this is being done with your tax money as Planned Parenthood is primarily funded by tax dollars from President Obama’s administration.

You mad yet? Continue reading…

PC-USA: Votes to Affirm Homosexuality

Gay_friendly_churchOriginal article posted here.

You do not have to go back very long when there was the theological fight for Princeton Seminary. At issue was the rise of liberalism that was taking away this once great bastion of great theologians. In the wake of this controversy, J. Gresham Machen wrote in his classic book, Christianity and Liberalism,

“it may appear that what the liberal theologian has retained after abandoning to the enemy one Christian doctrine after another is not Christianity at all, but a religion which is so entirely different from Christianity as to belong to a distinct category.”

This is long before any denomination recognized homosexual marriage as valid; long before the discussion was thought to be an option. Machen noted that liberalism embraces a naturalism that is swayed by the whims of the era and not by the trustworthiness of the Word of God.  He noted that morality  is the casualty but doctrine is where the first battles began.

One such denomination at the heart of liberalism is the PC-USA, a liberal denomination of Presbyterian Churches. Continue reading…

Sex-Ed Class Asks 14-Year-Old Girls: How Far Will You Go Sexually?

Posted on June 20, 2014 in Sexuality by

sex edParents that send their kids to school without paying attention to what they are being taught are failing in their duty to protect their kids.

At one time our schools focused on academics, math, reading, and science; or even offered trade classes to prepare students to enter the workplace. Not anymore. The focus of today’s public school is political indoctrination aimed at creating a very specific worldview.

One of the most powerful weapons in the school arsenal is sex education. There’s no doubt we live in a sex-obsessed culture where sex is used to sell everything from tires to office supplies. If you want people to take notice of your advertisement, include a half- naked person. Public schools are now using the “sex sells” method to “educate” students regarding sexuality and abortion.

Parents of students at a California middle school was shocked and outraged when their kids brought home the handout of a presentation that included pictures. A description of these pictures was given by a local news station:

“One slide talks about ‘Top Conception Myths’ and mentions douching. The photo accompanying the slide shows young men with the caption ‘douche bag.’ Another photo shows a man on all fours, with a woman standing on him. The caption reads ‘girl on top can still get pregnant.’ The photo that enraged parents the most was a slide also focused on conception myths, but showed a picture of a man with blood on his face. The caption for that picture read: ‘A real man loves his woman every day of the month.’” Continue reading…

Planned Parenthood “Pastoral Letter” Disappears

Posted on June 19, 2014 in Life by

Remember that “pastoral letter” Planned Parenthood sent to their supporters saying the Bible doesn’t talk about abortion and people of all faiths support killing unborn children – so it’s okay?

Well, it seems they got some major backlash from people for issuing such a blasphemous letter. So much that they decided to remove it from their site and try to conceal the fact that they even attempted to use the Bible to justify murder. Yeah, using the Bible to justify murder is not the brightest idea in light of that whole “thou shalt not kill” thing.

Hopefully that will be a very well learned lesson for Planned Parenthood: don’t use a life affirming book to justify murder.

Incidentally, if you’ve not read Alliance Defending Freedom senior counsel Casey Mattox’s letter to Planned Parenthood in response to their “pastoral letter,” you really should. His offer is brilliant. After speaking to Mattox he let me know that he is still waiting to hear back from Planned Parenthood. Imagine that.

GOVERNMENT: DISCOURAGING COMPASSION AND CHARITY

Posted on June 19, 2014 in Public Policy by

doctor and patientOriginal article posted here.

When Dr. Ben Burris saw a need in his community to help those who cannot afford dental care, he decided to offer greatly reduced cleanings and another doctor, Dr. Elizabeth Gohl, offered free extractions for the less fortunate.  Having two highly trained professionals offering their services is what we need to encourage, but some do not like it.  Who would be opposed to these great acts of compassion?  The answer, the government!

Burris and Gohl are not the only ones being targeted.  Dentists and doctors in West Virginia, Idaho, Nevada, Minnesota, New Mexico, Ohio, and Oklahoma, are running afoul of regulations established by federal and state governments that are limiting these physicians’ charity work.

That is right, charity is a target of regulations.  These doctors have the possibility of losing their license if they continue to operate in their profession by offering free services. Continue reading…

Rebuking Planned Parenthood’s Attempt to Use the Bible to Justify Abortion

Posted on June 18, 2014 in Life by

Remember that awful “pastoral letter” that Planned Parenthood sent to their supporters? It was supposed to let them know that clergy support abortion and the Bible and God are play with abortion. Just the thought of such a letter makes me angry. To try to use the Bible to coerce people into believing abortion is morally or biblically acceptable is a sin that is hard to move past.

LifeNews has posted an article intended to combat the efforts of Planned Parenthood to deceive people. Using sound biblical exegesis, Brad Mattes, the author of the article and president of Life Issues Institute, has soundly rebuked Planed Parenthood with a proper understanding of what the Bible teaches regarding life.

I encourage you to read the article, posted below, and share it with others that might be unsure of what the Bible teaches. Continue reading…

The Great Commission: Talking the Talk Without Actually Doing Anything

Posted on June 17, 2014 in Theology by

Why-Churches-Talk-the-Great-Commission-but-Don’t-Do-ItChuck Lawless, writing at Thom Rainer’s website, shares some insight on why many churches talk about the Great Commission but rarely do anything or follow up their talk with action. These points by Lawless are very much worth considering and perhaps, unfortunately, more true of our churches than we care to admit. But without first admitting there is a problem we won’t seek to correct it. So let’s be honest, admit there is a problem, the figure out how to make it right.

In seventeen years of doing church consulting, no church leader has said to me, “Our church really doesn’t want to do the Great Commission.” I’ve worked with many churches, though, that proclaim the Great Commission but never get around to doing it. Here are my conclusions about why churches so often fit this description. Continue reading…

Recap: A Home School Convention Is Like No Other

It was about 10 years ago when I attended the my first Home Education Association of Virginia conference.  That year, my family relied on a trusted friend to tell us which break-out sessions were worth going to and which we should avoid.

This year, my wife and I didn’t need any mentoring.  We are the experts going from session to session knowing what would be most beneficial for our family.  Still, after being a part of the home education movement for over a decade, I am still learning and amazed.  Here are some of what we learned or observed this year.

The average homeschooler is now scoring the top 15% of all students

Homeschoolers are knocking a home run academically.  Our average student is not only excelling, but they are doing so in undeniable terms.  Way to go homeschoolers.

Bye-bye denim jumpers

Yes, denim jumpers are a thing of the past.  I did not see one mother or child wearing these atrocious fashion staples of the past.

Socialization is a dead issue

The myth that homeschoolers are not as socialized is only held by low information people or those with an agenda.  The research is overwhelmingly clear, we are excelling in every area of life, including socialization. Continue reading…

Young People Explain Why They Want to Be a Virgin Until Marriage

Posted on June 16, 2014 in Marriage, Sexuality by

People wanting to remain a virgin until marriage are often confronted by a society that thinks they are strange, or that there’s something wrong with them. Sadly, our society is so sex-obsessed that anyone who is not, is considered strange. But, thankfully, young people are choosing to remain abstinent and sharing their reasons with others. Using a popular smartphone app, Whisper, which assures users of absolute privacy and anonymity, people are sharing their purpose for staying pure with others.

Here’s one of the images shared in a recent article showing the reason one user is staying a virgin until marriage. Click here for the full article which contains many more images.

Reflections from Inside the Southern Baptist Convention

Posted on June 16, 2014 in Theology by

SBCI was privileged to attend the Southern Baptist Convention’s annual meeting in Baltimore, MD this year as a messenger from my church in West Virginia. This was my first convention meeting and I was not sure what to expect. To be honest, I was afraid that I would feel out of place among a bunch of older, traditional pastors that don’t like the ESV, drums and worship music, or have any idea what small groups are for.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

What I found was a large, very mixed group of pastors that range from long-tenured, traditional, full-time pastors to bi-vocational church plant pastors with a few years under their belt. It was awesome.

I saw more hipster pastors wearing blue jeans and trendy glasses than I ever thought possible at at SBC event. With full beards that would’ve made Spurgeon proud there was an enormous number of young, modern, outside-the-box thinking pastors and their wives (and families) in attendance.

Some of the leading southern baptist pastors that you would not necessarily know were SBC pastors were present to share their insight on reaching the younger generations. Men like Matt Chandler and David Platt spoke along side Russell Moore and Albert Mohler. It was a beautiful contrast.  Continue reading…
